Fireside Frights
Here's a few pix of my yard last year, will post more as I shrink em down to size.
Next year will be bigger, added 16 more channels to the lightshow, 4 more fog machines, a dozen or so more tombstones, and am currently building a huge cemetary gate, some plywood cutouts of lock shock and barrel, and sally. Have my work cut out for me!

Thats awesome! I love the Nightmare Before Christmas theme!
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

Thanks!
My real estate agent thinks I'm off my rocker when I told her I need a house that will make a good graveyard, that plus a pool and jacuzzi are the top of the list!

Re: Fireside Frights
today's project, think I will box it, and fill with green xmas lights, I need to find a durable [cheap] colored film to cover the letters from the inside, or another thought is blacklights inside, but then I can't use it with the lightshow, florescents don't like to be switched on and off or faded, then I'll have to wait til after I move to build the columns.

First, if you're looking for light gels, go to PNTA, http://www.pnta.com/contact.htm. Sometimes, you can even get "scrap" gels from them for free. These guys are great, and they've been around for a long time.
Second, for the lighting, have you considered a strand of "rope light"? Rope light is fantastic, easy to work with and secure, and it comes in many colors. Rope light also works great with dimmers.
Check places like Lowes and Home Depot. They always have the white in stock, and sometimes they'll have other colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, etc.) in stock depending on the season.

Re: Fireside Frights
yeah rope light would work, but would be far cheaper to just use reg xmas lights. I might even just use the vinyl sticker material I use, I'll probably get it painted and wait til I move as the movers would mess it up anyhow. thanks for the link, I have some other things gels will come in handy
Next project is to build this, next payday at least.

I think it looks better misspelled.

Oh, man! I hadn't even noticed! I was just appreciating the font and the carpentry.
I hate it when that happens.

Ouch!
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.
