Re: Halloween vs Christmas ?
I do love Halloween the best than Christmas because I love everything scary, watch horror movies, good foods for Halloween party plus everything! I'm not really into XMAS thing, but only presents, foods and cash.

Re: Halloween vs Christmas ?
I prefer Halloween as well. I feel more alive during the Halloween season. It's a night where anything goes and it's completely different than any other day of the year. I love the eerieness of it and that it's such an old holiday. It's not that I dislike Christmas. It's just that Christmas is kind of chaotic and there's so much pressure that comes with it. I feel none of that with Halloween.

Re: Halloween vs Christmas ?
Well, I love them both for different reasons. I have always said that Christmas is my favorite & Halloween my second-favorite, but my husband thinks I really like Halloween better.
Halloween kicks off the holiday season for me. It is the culmination of my favorite month of the year, and I think it is the great holiday of imagination. And, like Pumpkin said, there's no pressure. Nothing has to be perfect at Halloween.
I love Christmas because, for me, it is infused with religious mystery and awe, and it has all the nostalgic associations of my childhood and family connections. I am very aware of being a link in a chain of tradition at Christmas. I have added a few things of my own, like the cranberry orange bread and the wassail, but I know that I make cornbread sage & onion dressing like my grandmother did, and I bake a ham like my aunt did. Stuff like that. I also love the music of the season. My husband and I are both singers (we met in a college choir), and I have many, many memories of practicing all the Christmas songs there are, in school choirs, church choirs, etc. In fact, you could say the Christmas season sort of starts in October for me, too, because that's when choirs start practicing the music for Christmas.
I'm on a Halloween forum, though, because in my everyday life, most people love and celebrate Christmas, but not everyone celebrates or enjoys Halloween.

I have to agree that Halloween is the best American holiday for sure. I like all the horror stuff and fall weathers.

If I preferred Christmas to Halloween, I wouldn't be here.

HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

I guess Spooky thinks that on a Halloween forum, you might expect pretty much everyone to prefer Halloween. However, as I said above, I actually do prefer Christmas, but I love Halloween, too. I guess I am the exception around here!

Alright kittens, let's calm down. I haven't been here very long, but my impression of Spooky is that he's a nice guy. A little bit of a smarta**, but a nice guy nonetheless
