I was looking around through iTunes and found a really good one.

It's better than some other cheesy ones.

If it's for a party I go with Monster Mash-type stuff.

If it's for a haunt I like sound effects.

that one sounds pretty good, that cemetery one I could see pissing off non-believers thinking you're getting all holy, but I could see piping out from behind the tombstones in a "deserted" cemetery

Why would a non-believer be pissed at what is pretty obviously a mock-funeral ceremony? :?

I loved it because I thought it added a lot of creepy and mournful atmosphere and I'm a Christian.

I liked it because it sounded like a creepy funeral ceremony and I'm not a Christian. :)

I know of a good one, but it's an Android App and not avail stand-alone.

You can choose from like 4 background music themes or no background music at all. Then kick it off and you are good. The only issue is the free version stopped after 2 or 3 minutes. The paid version (99 cents) offered 15 more sounds (I think like 30 or so sounds in all) and the best part. NO TIME LIMIT in the 99 cent versions - so I just hook it up to the speakers - and let it run the night.

Someone once shared with me that its all about the sound. It makes 80% of the mood, environment and feel of a great spook. For years we tried CD's, MP3's, old records! But in the
end - you never get a loop that does NOT sounds like a loop. So every year - the same thing... Loops and loops. BORING!!!

I usually put these tracks on a CD for halloween parties. Most of the stuff we play is funny stuff or metal.
Megadeth - Dawn Patrol
Cannibal Corpse - Death Walking Terror
Pantera - Avoid the Light
Megadeth - Go to Hell
"My only friend is a goat, with 666 between his horns!"

I like it, I'm going to have a small stereo set up in my bathroom at my party, playing a mix tape I made six years ago of 'unsettling noises' and I'm replacing the lights with green bulbs for added effect. I prefer to have a really upbeat environment for the main party, but spooky corners are always fun
