Help on Team America Costume

Hello everyone. I am trying to replicate the Team America World Police costume for Halloween and I am having trouble deciding on how to approach the jacket. Should I go with a white shell jacket and use paint (silver) and material to get the color? Or should I buy a satin chrome jacket and then paint or use material? I'm not sure how the pain would come out and it would be a lot of material to cut and glue. Any ideas?

Here is what it is supposed to look like:

Here is the jacket I found online:

Thanks so much!

I would definitely buy the silver jacket to use as the base. Fabric paint should be fine on that. If you're don't mind spending a little more, any tailor should be able to stitch pieces on. I'm sure that there is material with stars/stripes patterns on it at major fabric stores. I don't think you will have any trouble. Good luck :)
