Re: Whatcha watchin right now?
Christmas Vacation is my favorite Christmas movie...it's a classic. I also enjoy Home Alone, A Christmas Story and Scrooged.
They say that life's a carousel
Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
Its heaven and hell, oh well
I am Vengeance...I am the Night!
I swear to God...[Batman]SWEAR to Me!!

Re: Whatcha watchin right now?
We own most of the ones other people have mentioned. The Holiday is my favorite Christmas-time romantic comedy, I think. However, I've been on a Love, Actually binge this week, for some reason.
Going back to my childhood, animated favorites have always been Charlie Brown, Rudolph, and the Grinch. I prefer the old animated Grinch to the newer movie, but my kids like the live-action movie.
To me, Nightmare before Christmas is really a Halloween movie. I love it, but I don't particularly want to see it at Christmas.
I know I mention it every year, but there is a DVD out called Bethlehem Star which goes way beyond anything you ever saw in a planetarium, explaining what happened in the night sky with the Christmas star. You can buy this DVD at Christian bookstores or on line at www.bethlehemstar.com. (You can also read much of the info contained on the DVD at this web site.)

I also like the old animated Grinch. I do like the Jim Carrey one too though.
I normally try & watch the yearly showing of 'The Snowman' when it's on TV.
I also like the Christmas specials of the shows I watch. This year i'm looking forward to the 'Downton Abbey' Christmas special.

The Girl Next Door
It's about a young guy didn't know that his girlfriend is a porn star! It's mixed comedy and romance movie.

I love Christmas Vacation--it's like when my family gets together during the holidaysMidnite Shadow wrote:Christmas Vacation is my favorite Christmas movie...it's a classic. I also enjoy Home Alone, A Christmas Story and Scrooged.
Home Alone still makes me laugh--the part when Kevin puts the tarantula on Marv's face and he screams? I watch that part over and over and over because it gives me the giggles in a major way
Does anyone get tired of A Christmas Story? It's played non-stop for like 24 or 48 hours straight every year!

No, Halloween H20 wasn't as good as the original, but still not bad. I kind of liked it.
I'm watching the morning news which is scary enough!

Re: Whatcha watchin right now?
A Christmas Story is a great holiday favorite of mine, possibly my favorite of the family-themed Christmas movies. I don't watch it non-stop, though. I have a DVD and tend to watch it once or twice during the season.
Yesterday I watched the movie Luther (Joseph Fiennes, Alfred Molina, Peter Ustinov), because it was Martin Luther's birthday. I am always impressed by what a great movie that is. Terrific story, well-written and brilliantly acted by everyone.
