i'm not usually a big fan of gore and vulgar language in movies; however, it's zombie's universe and i respect that... i don't think he does it because he has nothing else; i think he does it because it reflects his personality and white-trash worldview - and that makes me approach it differently... it now has artisitic, aesthetic value

my favorite movie of all time is JC's version of HALLOWEEN. although i am a HUGE fan of what Rob has done. he is taking it in it's own direction, and as a creative writer and a halloween holiday fanatic, i enjoy anything to do with the season. so if someone wants to be inspired by the original masterpiece and create something that will entertain me for while.. well i say "heck yes" i'm down for it :)
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Although Rob Zombie did decent job with the first Halloween, there is no comparison to the Original. I kinda feel this way about most horror movies. The older movies have more of a creepy feel to them rather scary. It's a tradition of mine to watch the complete Halloween Series in the month of October. Anything around this season is great and I look forward to it every year. So how many Halloween movies do you think Rob Zombie will make? I hope everyone is excited and ready for Halloween. I think it's going to be a great season.
All alone in the woods with nothing but the smell of smoke from the camp fire, cracking leaves as you walk and seeing your breath from the cold crisp air. Halloween is my favorite time of the year!

The movie has gotten TERRIBLE reviews just as I expected it would. It got a 17% out of 100 on rotten tomatoes. Check it out. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/h2_halloween_2/

What did you guys think of it?

Post by ParanormalGurl » Sun Aug 30, 2009 12:05 am

I went and see the movie opening night and lets just say I WASTED MY MONEY!!! Rob Zombie did a HORRIBLE job...Some of the graphics were good and the beginning of the movie started out good but then it just started to go down hill....The previews were better than the movie!! :( TWO THUMBS DOWN FOR THIS ONE

My girlfriend and I went and seen it opening night and I was so mad because it sucked bad. RZ should have quit after the first one but as far as I'm concerned, he shouldn't have tried to re-create a legend because this is what happens. I though the first part of the movie started out ok but then it got worse and worse. Horrible story line that jumps all over. The setting (Haddonfield) was horrible. I won't go into details to ruin an already terrible movie for others. Graphics were ok as they usually are for RZ but other than that def. 2 thumbs down. Disappointment filled the air in the movie cinema. Please let me know what you thought of the movie.

Cheers!

Can't say I'm surprised, though I did find the first one to be better than the reputation it got. Oh well, I just hope that after this, we leave the Halloween franchise alone, and let Rob Zombie go back to what he was good at, movies like The Devil's Rejects.

I went to see it opening day.
Not the worst movie ever, but Rob Zombie isn't for everyone.
He would have been better suited for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.
However, fear not.
Next summer will apparently see the release of...get this...Halloween 3D.
Several sites have reported this.
I'm not sure I believe it yet, but this seems legit.

You are correct about the release of a Halloween 3D, I found a link on it. Although some people say it is a rumor, i think unfortunately it is reality. Hollywood needs to stop making <deleted> to milk money out of classic franchises. IMO the majority of the movies in the present can't compare to older movies because in the 70s, 80s, and 90s movie directors made their best effort to make movies with quality.

Whoever came up with the idea of creating another Halloween movie a year after Halloween II came out is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Zombie is no longer director, and it looks like the franchise is going to go in ANOTHER direction.

Well, a lot of people didn't care for Zombies take on things.
I didn't mind it too much, but he's definitely over the top.
My only problem with a Halloween movie in 3D is that the special effects will likely be the focus of it, not the story itself.

I have ti disagree with you both on this one. I thought Rob Zombie did an excelent job of retelling the "Michael Mysers" sotry with a new little twist to the ending.

I can't wait to see Rob Zombie's "Halloween 3" if he decides to do it, and the indications are that there will be a "Halloween 3."
