Your Favorite Decoration
What is your favorite decoration to put up? Mine would have to be my full-sized, animated butler called Edward. That was the name on the box. I have had him for 2 years and he is awesome! All the TOTers love him.

Re: Your Favorite Decoration
Last year my fiance and I bought a ton of those stretchable spiderwebs and just spread them all over the outside of the house. So, as of last year those were my favorite just because they added such a spooky halloweeny feel without too much effort.
Then again I always love my Jack-O-Lantern too!

Gravestones!!
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

Re: Your Favorite Decoration
I hate to be boring about it, but my very favorite Halloween decoration is and has allways been the traditional triangle eyed and nosed Jack O'lantern carved in a real pumpkin and with a candle used as a light source.

i also have the edwardian butler and i love him. i have named him Edgar. i have him permanently in my lounge room with a wine glass on his tray. sadly tho, every time my grandson (3) and his mother (29) come over i have to cover him with a sheet as they are both terrified of him. i would love to get a maid in the same era to keep him company but cant find one.

Is he the one that Spirit Stores sold a few years ago?. The one with a pointy, pale face and little beady black eyes?gidget wrote:i also have the edwardian butler and i love him. i have named him Edgar. i have him permanently in my lounge room with a wine glass on his tray. sadly tho, every time my grandson (3) and his mother (29) come over i have to cover him with a sheet as they are both terrified of him. i would love to get a maid in the same era to keep him company but cant find one.

It's an old cardboard cut-out of Snoopy in a witch hat, walking along with Woodstock with a simple Happy Halloween across the bottom.
I've had it for 20 years now.

Re: Your Favorite Decoration
I know that I said that I was partial to the traditional triangular faced Jack O'Lantern, and I am, but it's hard to think of any one thing that I put up that's my absolute favorite. I kind of like all of them. I have a little ceramic Haunted House that sits o n top of one of the speakers in my diningroom, and a fake Jack O"Lantern that sits on the other one. Then I have two fake Jack O'Lanterns that sit on top of the speakers in my living room. Then I hang pumpking and ghost lights around the living room fire place, and I have skull lights that I hang up around the dining room. I have a simple skelotin that i hang up outside, and when it's time for TOT, I put one of my carved real pumpkins outside on a chair. I also park my motorcycle in the front yard, and make a scare crow without a head, and put him on the bike as the Headless horseman. If I feel ambitious, I will carve a pumpkin to use as his head.

Well if I ever find a really creepy sounding old chime clock, it will likely be a part of my year long decor, too.
