There's just something about the way those Halloween lights glow that really brings the holiday home to me. I'm even thinking about buying a couple of black lights so I can hang decorations that floresce when it's hit with a little UV. In face, with something like that, I might even leave some of it up year round.

So funny to log on and see this thread bumped to the top.

After a sweltering heat wave, the weather has cooled and the humidity has dropped significantly (which is very rare for VA in the summer). I'm just now sitting on my screened porch listening to distant insects as I muse on the fact that July 25th feels more like October 5th...

The ever so slight nip in the air is certainly putting me in the spirit; I may even get crazy and dig out a pumpkin candle to really get the ambiance all black and orange out here.

Good to see you back, Demonic Duck. I won't hold your absence against you, as I can imagine small monsters are time consuming to manage. Congrats, and I hope all is well with you and your family!

All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,

Oh yes I got the bug now! Finally been working on the gravestones I've been putting off. Wait till you see all the horror references I'm hiding in them.
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

as a usual-lurker-and-occasional-poster, its reassuring (and fun) to come back to this forum & find all of you kindred spirits thinking the same thing I am - Halloween suddenly feels right around the corner. I know a couple of you mentioned it above in the thread, but this weather across most of the eastern US in late July is definitely helping. I just took a late night drive around my St. Louis neighborhood with the windows down and it was downright chilly! Awesome!
I've been looking around at the different Halloween merch websites to see what new props & decor are out for the year already, etc., it definitely suddenly feels like its right around the corner.
