Clowns. Buzzing flying insects...
Skeletons with EYES - does anyone remember the show "Knightmare"??? It still shows on Challenge TV sometimes... there used to be a countdown clock for if they were running out of time solving a puzzle - it was a face and pieces of its flesh would break off one at a time until it was just a skull with big, glaring eyes. It scared me to death.

Spookyboo, that babysitter should be taken out & SHOT. I mean, what the heck was that about???
Funny you guys are scared of the NO legs thing - I don't have any problem at all with no legs... it's TOO MANY legs (i.e. more than 4) that bugs me out. But that's not my real fear.
My real fear is deep water. I developed the fear late in life & I know exactly the instant it came on me. You'd figure I could snap out of it then, but as we know, phobias aren't quite that rational, damnit.
By the way, I guess I shouldn't mention that I'm occasionally a clown?

Act well your part; there all the honour lies.

OK guys.... I know the clown thing is a little lame....
Don't know where it comes from, earlier than I can remember I guess. Now that I think of it, carnival/circus stuff in general kind of creeps me out. Maybe I've watched 'Freaks', or 'Carnival of souls' too many times!
Funny, isn't it? What creeps us out is SOOOO different.
Although I have to agree with HH about the no legs thing.
And Larissa, sweetie, I don't feel bad about dressing as a scary witch, don't you feel the slightest bit bad about the clown thing!!

lots of votes for snakes and spiders (no surprise).
But what about some of the other 'big ones' like:
buried alive
death
flying
heights
large dogs
dolls (the ones with the spirit of a killer trapped iniside)
Personally, I don't like flying and I hate spiders. The movie Snakes on a Plane would've been better served with spiders.

Well I think the only one that fits in with Halloween for me is Spiders. Although I respect them because they are so important, I am still terrified of them, but I will continue to work on this fear.
My others, well they have more to do with personal life experieces, and aren't really Halloweenish, but here are some of the top ones.
1)Feeling like my time is running out
2) Dying-Been there and didn't like what there was, or how it left hubby feeling
3) Being around a Family situation, this is a really big issue for me
4) Not being able to accomplish any of my goals or Dreams
4) That I might not be able to have a child, or afford to adopt one
5) Not getting well
6) The State of Mother Earth
7) Governments
BUsy Highways
9) Flying
10) Leaving my home for extended periods of time, for fear of coming home and finding you've been Violated from a B&E
11) That the human Race will become less and less inclined to reach out and help one another, a neighbour, stranger, street person, really anyone in need tat we all see each and every day.
Well, I was going to just stick to the safe topics, but I figured since I really do feel you all are becoming my friends I should be Honest, and give some honest inner fears, so I hope honesty is what you were shooting for

Not to belittle anyone here, but I really can't say that something "scares" me. Although I understand how fobias have the tendancy to make people squirm. I don't think I have anything that really scares me to the point of hysteria. Snakes, spiders, darkness or startling actions, just don't make me shudder in fear.
When I was a child, I was scared of being drafted, or having to face death. (Or a giant hand would come crashing into my bedroom window, grab me, and pull me out of the house.) Then I went into the Navy, and that fear of the military was dispelled. But I can tell you what I hate. But it's not because of "fear".
Evil clowns.
It's so stupid, I hate it. Normal clowns are cool, but evil clowns? Not a chance. When I see them, I just roll my eyes. Tisk, tisk, tisk.
My apologies to those who think their cool or scary. It's just one of those things I just don't "get".
We now return you to the regularly scheduled scairdy-cats...
