Can I just say....that since I joined this forum just over a month ago now, I have met probably the most helpful, genuine, kind and thoughful people that I have come across in a VERY VERY long time.

Everyday when I log on to here I look forward to reading what is being said by everyone about everyones projects, ideas and thoughts....not just about Halloween but everything else too!

It actually brings a lump to my throat to think that in this sometimes worrying and not always very nice world there are still groups of people that are prepared to go just that little bit further to make somebody elses day that little bit more special!!!

Thank you all

:) :) :) :)

Right there with ya. I see so much that's ugly; it's nice to find a group that's just a good bunch of people.

I'm learning a lot about our members in other countries which I find fascinating. Just the other day I asked my dear friend if she wanted to have a boot sale with me and that I would be so chuffed if she said yes. Of course, she just stared at me strangely until I explained what I said. :D

LOL!! Yeah, I find myself using "no worries" and "wonky" in my everyday speech. And I'm just really waiting for the opportunity to call someone a "big girl's blouse"!

Big girl's blouse?? I must have missed that one. :?

Dutchess of Darkness rubbed off on me with her "Ya"s. It's really quite fun. I also tend to read our UK and Australian members' posts with an accent. :D

lol! Oh no! I knew that "chuffed" would somehow make it to the US and it would be my fault! *rolls around on the floor laughing* Whoopsiedaisy!

I say "No worries" all the time too :P

BUT I also say a lot of American expressions such as "candy" instead of sweeties, "store" instead of shop, and the old favourite, "awesome"

Ha! About time we sent something back across the pond!

LawP, you haven't heard anyone called a big girl's blouse because I know meaner people than hang out here. Actually, I think it just sounds so incredibly hilarious as an insult.

That's cool! I've picked up a lot of phrases that are Britt. Like when I think that's something is askew, or not quite right, I say "Wonky". (Don't even know if I spell it right.) It just "sounds right" to me.

So I use a lot of American old termanology, so people have a definate feel about there I'm comming from, yet familliar to the US members, but I do use a few Britt, common terminology so they have a clue as well.

When I lived with my parent's we had three Britt neigbors. Wonderful people. Loved our version of Harry Potter Haunts. (At the same time, we tried to remain true to their views, so it was a bit deeper than just a lighting bolt on the forehead, through "American Eyes".)

Thing is, in these forums we learn more than just a few trick & treats. It boadens our vocabulary and brings the world closer together. To me, that's important.

That's what I love about the forums and the internet.

Isn't it odd how something can sound perfectly normal to one person and really strange to another!

I read all of these posts during my lunch break at work and I laughed till I cried!

My colleagues thought I had lost the plot!!!

I totally agree with I B, that is what these forums are about! Learning about others and sharing laughs!!
