I understand some of your concerns about having your pics up but, it shouldn't have to be this way. We've always loved this thread and seeing pics of eachother is half of the fun. I'm really not worried about whatever and I'm going to continue to post pics of myself...... cuz I KNOW how you all LOVE seeing me!

I'm just sayin that we can't let paranoia get the best of us.... Do any of us want to give that kind of satisfaction to 'he who shall not be named'?
Here's one I'm sure you'll all enjoy! Image

Ok I'm trying really hard here to understand rational reasoning behind all of this :?: I understand that it's disturbing when others take photos and claim them as their own, but I would also imagine that there are millions out there who possess the skills to be coming around here and taking off with our pictures, but it seems that since this is now in our conscious awareness we have become hyper-aroused and fear has taken over. There are creeps and predators everywhere, hell every neighbourhood is loaded with them, even those whom we'd least want to believe its possible to be, they exist in every realm of the population, so what, do we lock ourselves up and never leave ours homes? Not wander the streets that are watched by some camera which in turn is monitored by only god knows who, what about every other organization that has access to not only your photo but personal information such as a drivers licence? By deleting our pictures, "which is a huge part of our enjoyment here on the forum", we not only let those who seek to distroy win, but we as a forum literally become crippled and the enjoyment will be gone...I respect everyone's choices, but I personally refuse to let anybody run me into a closet, my pictures will continue to go up for the enjoyment of my friends here, and if they're taken without my awareness then they are, who's to say they haven't been already, then so be it, I'm not going to let fear control what is out of my conrol anyways ( but if such a case should ever come to my awareness, then this Canadian would be kickin some serious Butt, Canadian style and that ain't a pretty site)

So I really do hope this incident doesn't cause Paranoia to govern this forum, and I hope to still see some pictures continue to be posted for the love of Halloween and the enjoyment of each other :D

Boy, OEJ, I feel pretty sure Voldemort would be really PO'd to have one of his names applied to THAT creep.

(get it? He-who-should-not-be-named...??? OK, enough with the obscure Harry Potter references  )

I agree with OEJ and DOD. Not going to let him ruin my good time. I totally understand those of you with young families, and you notice that you've not seen any pics of my daughter on here. (but just look on facebook!!! ) But I choose not to let this get me down. You guys are the best bunch I have ever had the pleasure of meeting on-line, and I'm going to continue to share as much of my life with you as I can. I always thought that people who "met" people on line were crazy....but never say never, 'cause now I count among my dearest friends some folks I have never laid eyes on. Go figure.

Love you all

Awww, thanks OEJ, now if only I would have noticed I spelt Sight wrong I would have ben a whole lot happier, oh heck, who cares, I'm sure most can make out what I was saying

But this has gotten to far out of hand, we all know it's happened, and who's doing what, so I hope everyone can just put it behind them and move on to why we're here in the first place, and we'll deal with any future problems as they arise :!:

I completely understand the importance of not being engulfed by fear, however, I don't feel comfortable right this second taking any chances with my kid's pictures. I will certainly leave up any pictures of myself or decorations that I have posted. If anyone is crazy enough to want to steal them, whatever. I really don't care. But my kids are a different matter. Sorry, that just how I feel right now. Maybe my feelings will change in time, infact my guess is they will. We'll see. Anyway, just my two cents.

One final comment that I hope will shed a greater perspective on this matter. When I think of just how much personal information my own government has on me, on everyone here and the fact that within that organization there could be any number of predators, creeps, stalkers employed within a number of sectors with access to very personal information, it just brings to light what little regard or concern I have for "any" information any member of a forum could take of mine. Want to take my picture and claim me as your slave girl, have at it, want to take pictures of my decorations and claim them as yours, again have at it, cause in the end Karma will only come back to bite them on their <deleted>! or me, whichever finds out first. Furthermore, I'd be far more enclined to be concerned with who lives in my own complex here then someone on some board who needs to steal others identity then have the self-esteem to create their own.

Exactly, HH, and Dutchess, I do understand your perspective as well and thanks for talking some sense back into me. I guess every parent's worst nightmare is (God forbid!!) to have their children fall prey to some sick predator, and we do everything in our power to keep it from happening. I'm not saying that one could get to my sons by viewing them on here, but the knowledge that we've had a character like that actually prowling this forum, just laying his eyes on my sons, makes me have to distance them from here.

Pictures are so important, and they are of great enjoyment at our forum- I'm certain I will contribute again in the future because I want to share them with y'all. I've just learned the lesson that I don't want my kids on here. After all, you don't even have to sign in to view every post we make.

But, no one will bring down the family atmosphere and celebration of Halloween and fun that we have created!! :D ROCK ON, we shall!!!
