Update on the clown theme...
We have 17 clowns built so far...so many more to go! Most built of PVC and pool noodles, and most costumes were purchased.
As we were building them, we realized that they didn't all have to be creepy to frighten, because people HATE clowns...lol...love it!!
We have little tiny ones (3 foot) and big ones (grim reaper clown)...upside down ones, and sitting ones.
For those of you that don't remember other posts, my front yard has a front porch with a flat front yard and two little "patios" on either side of
the front door entrance...we also added a walkway to the front door this year.
My thought is to line the walkway with 4-5 clowns and a jack in the box clown that the kiddies have to walk thru to get their treat (and their fraidy cat parents...haha)
One clown is upside down, hanging from a hula hoop, so his face will be eye level to the tots.
I came upon a lot deal on Ebay for 5 clown outfits meant for little girls about 10-12 years old. Pink hat: pink, almost French type clown costume. I called the company I got them from and she sent me 4 more..all identical. I ordered 8 wig heads, and made some simple eye masks of the same color, and painted only the lips black...My thought is to have the same exact ' non threatening' looking clown (although they do kinda creep me out'..everywhere you look. We are even putting one in the bathtub, peeking behind the shower curtain, so when you are washing your hands and you look in the mirror..there is the same f::::::g clown looking at you.
I intend to put them here and there ...behind the grim reaper guy, by the pretend popcorn machine (which we havent started building yet)..etc
Will be great for the adult party on Oct 30th, where everyone is half drunk and the same little being is following you!!!!
For the front porch, we are framing 2 circus wagons out of <deleted> wood..painted red and gold, with a clown behind the bars trying to get out
For the main entrance, I want to make a huge clown..but we haven't gotten too far on that yet.

Looks like you can do a lot with PVC pipe! I guess I'll have to keep that in mind someday.
Like Murf said you'll have to post it. I still remember this little joke about Ronald McDonald being compared to the Killer Clowns from outerspace.

Re: Update on the clown theme...
It shows a meme where the Killer Clown from Outerspace goes:
"You think you're one of us? You disgust me!"
Ronald replies with:
"I've killed more people than you!"
I think the joke is...because people get heart attacks, heart disease and all kinds of problems by constantly eating fast food...and McDonalds have the reputation for such especially in the movie "SuperSize me."
I had to leave out a certain word that was inappropriate but that was basically what it said.

I agree with Nevermore on this one. I don't think I'd dare to trick or treat in your yard!
Although if we go by props, art and effort taken it looks great! Especially since everything's all hand made.
Sure wish I had time money and ambition to do something this creative.

Re: Update on the clown theme...
I have said before that there is a destination street not far from us, where the whole street turns into a block party on Halloween night, and we get the overflow. Well, it seems to me that more people on my street are getting into the spirit this year. I am seeing way more decorations up and down the street than I have in the past. One of them, a couple of doors down, has a clown on the side porch. Not as amazing as the yard display in this thread, but it's a start!

Re: Update on the clown theme...
Either people are late decorating this year or else I haven't seen as much as I usually do. Though some people down the road decorated that I didn't expect, and they did have a small but decent display. The people who put up all the blow ups put those up again, and I haven't got mine out yet. We have our grave yard out and some pumpkins, lights and stuff but that's about it. Most of the decorating is indoor and centers around the livingroom and dining room. We did get a couple new things, but they were relatively inexpensive.
The people that usually have things hanging on the trees and the "Bunnyman" haven't brought theirs out yet.
It could be a matter of perspective but I think the decorating is about the same, or less than it has been.
It might just depend on the area you live in too.

Re: Update on the clown theme...
I've seen almost no decorations here. I got to think the weather is ruining the mood for a lot of people. One week before Halloween and I have all the windows and doors open trying to cool the house down.

Sorry to hear that Nevermore. The weather in Virginia is as follows...turn the heater on in the morning and the air conditioner in the afternoon...
