It's October 1st already!

I can't believe how much the time has flown this year. In just 30 days it will be everyone's favorite holiday!
I've still got a lot of preparations to do, but hopefully I'll have enough time to do them all.
How far is everyone's decorating so far? We mostly have outdoor stuff out but we haven't got the blow ups out yet.

Man, I haven't even really gotten started! I want to do my dining room first, because my daughter will be home for a couple of days next week, and I think she will get a kick out of that.

I plan on putting out my stuff this weekend.
It's hard to get motivated with warm weather

I wish it was warm weather. It's still pretty darn hot. Though, it's supposed to drop to the 80s this weekend with possible rain on Sunday.
Rain or no rain, I'm gonna start watering the trees. The lady across the street had a huge branch fall off a tree last night, smashed her fiancé's car. I was out there till 10 last night with the chainsaw clearing a path so they could get their other cars out of the garage.

You live in a major urban area, you own a chainsaw.
Hmmm...

Live on a canyon. Huge yard. Lotsa trees. Also, coyotes. There are coyotes in the city.

We've had a lot of rain this week and are cooling down pretty significantly--highs in the 60s now. No doubt it will warm up again this fall, but for right now, it is looking and feeling autumnal. The trees are just starting to change noticeably. They won't peak for two or three weeks, I imagine.

Can I send you all of our homeless people? We have thousands. I think they'd enjoy the beautiful California beach and lifestyle.

Our cities just buy them one-way bus tickets to where ever they want to go...really.

Back in the 80's there was a war between Miami and San Diego. Each city was putting homeless folks on buses and sending them to each other. Problem was that regardless which way the bus went they had to go through Dallas. So lots of homeless bums were staying in Dallas. It almost wound up in court but they 'supposedly' stopped the cross country busing.

Nice and cool? It feels like winter already here! Then again I blame the hurricane that's been going on. I feel bad for the people in the Bahamas, but thankfully it seems to be staying away from land. Hopefully it'll die down eventually, and that the cold and rain is the worst thing we'll have to deal with.
At least we'll be prepared in case the power goes out, but really the weather hasn't been nearly as bad as was predicted. The power did go out last night...for about two seconds.

Our family is going to a football game tonight, Vandy vs. MTSU. We have sons at both schools. And the weather is cold and wet!
