New kitty I'm adopting (hopefully)

Post by EvilMel » Mon Oct 15, 2007 7:45 am

Well...since the split with my husband, I only have one cat (he kept one and I kept one). My cat that I currently have is very standoffish. She really hates to be petted and pretty much doesn't want to have anything to do with most people. I used to have this old man cat that I absolutely loved. He died Feb 15th of kidney disease, so I'd been kinda thinking here and there of getting another male cat.

I just figured that a stray would come along and I'd take that cat if it seemed right.

Well the other day, my university had a "staff day" fall festival kinda thing (they do it every year) and this rescue society was there. I met the neatest male cat...his name is Bagheera (after the panther in Jungle Book). I applied on Friday to adopt him! I remember a thread here last year about black cats needing homes and whatnot.

If I get him, he will be my first black cat and I'm so excited. I'm more excited because he's so sweet, but the fact that he's black makes it just that much better!

So here's a pic:

What a beautiful black cat, Evilme. I'm sure you not going to regret adopting him. Best of luck with your new best buddy. :D
Because once you cross that bridge, my friend, the ghost is through, his power ends.

Those guys are cute too!

I sooo hope the adoption goes well. The agency called me today and asked for my vet's number. They've already called my landlord and gotten that squared away. So I know things are moving along. I'm so excited to be able to take him soon, hopefully.

Ok so they've called my landlord, vet, and friends!

woo hoo!!!

They actually specifically asked me about my vet, and whether he was my vet when Nomi died in February. I guess they are going to ask the Doc about that. I know what he's going to say...anyone who has known me for any length of time knew that that cat was my freaking child. hah hah.

YAY! Getting closer by the hour, it seems.

Kitties give Wolfie gas.

JK!

I love cats as pets. My friends have cats and they all love to hop on the Wolfman's lap
for some kind and lovin' pettin's. Wonderful creatures. Sometimes even the cats do too.

Ok so my home visit is tomorrow. My vet gave a great recommendation (which I'm not surprised about) so they said everything seems fine.

yay!
