I See Halloween People...365
If you are in here in April then it's safe to say you probebly see Halloween anywhere you look, or at least it comes to mind more often than not.
Please use this thread to post pix of anything that says 'Halloween' to you.
If you think it might be a stretch of the imagination you can add your thoughts on the matter.
I'll start it off with a pic I took last night just at sunset. It was really, REALLY windy, and foggy. The fog lifted off of the horizon, behind a fir tree and the colors were awesome.

All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Thats me! I used to think I was the only one who saw Halloween everywhere I look until I came on here. Sometimes when I look at the woods I think they look Halloweeny. If you are in here in April then it's safe to say you probebly see Halloween anywhere you look, or at least it comes to mind more often than not.

Excellent thread! I will keep an eye out to find something.

You kiddin' me? Most of my Halloween ideas come about as I'm walking around or staring off into trees.

It doesn't have to be a photo if you can describe 'whatever' well, post it!

Everywhere I look, I see Halloween. Not only because of nature, but because some people still haven't taken down they're decorations! Here in Delta, British Columbia, it's very spooky, especially during the night. Sometimes when me and my wife are in bed, we hear owls hooting, dogs howling, crows screaming, it's spooky but we like it!

I also forgot. Another thing that adds to the whole spookiness is the fact that we have a crazy old lady living down the street in a beat up old house.
This lady looks like she's been through hell and back.

I live kind of out in the country. So all around me I see spookyness. This is right next to my house.

Nothing says 'Halloween' like bare brances along a rain soaked lane.

Re: I See Halloween People...365
Well...as silly as this may sound...they showed a giant picture of a donut that reminded me of one of those fall ones because it had the brownish almost black frosting and orange-ish colored frosting on a poster at Dunkin Donut's.
The town at night can remind one of Halloween...and the fact that I live in a house over 100 years old that could possibly be haunted reminds me of Halloween too.
Not to mention the fact that I'm in the same bedroom my grandfather died in. My dad said I was morbid!
Visiting the grave yards reminds me of Halloween...but it also reminds me of Memorial day. I know Memorial day is supposed to be for veterens but I like to remember ALL of my dead reletives that day.
If one were to combine Memorial day with Halloween...I would think the result would be similiar to Dia De Muertos or Day of the Dead which is celebrated in Mexico...or Oban Week celebrated in Japan.
I believe I did make a thread once about similiar holidays to Halloween celebrated in Foreign countries. It's very interesting to see how other cultures interpret THEIR "Death Day" celebrations, which is kind of what Halloween essentially is. But Americans and Europians seem to prefer the "laugh in the face of death" aspect rather than the "Let's respect the dead aspect." And on Memorial day...well...I think Memorial day does that job just as well.
Oh by the way RDM...that's a beautiful site. I miss the country...I really wish I could go back.
It's weird but...I didn't used to like living out in the boon docks where there's little civilization....but now I miss it. Of course, when I was a teenager I lacked a car too which makes a huge difference when you can't just walk to the store.
Now walking to the store is just an overlooked convenience. I miss the sounds of the frogs and crickets chirping at night and the birds singing. Well, we get the crickets and the birds but it's not near as great as it was out in the sticks. We saw all kinds of wild life. Now all we get to see are birds and squirells. I miss seeing Deer, and chip munks, and a variety of birds and ground hogs and all those other creatures.
I remember seeing a raccoon mama and baby, and one time I saw a fox...both times scared the living day lights out of me. But at least I had my mom'sdog with me when I saw the raccoon. Even though he's just a small dog.

This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

Re: I See Halloween People...365
Unfortunately, I also live near the interstate highway. So I hear annoying cars zooming around a lot. That sucks. But I do see squirrels and chipmunks. Once in a great while I see a deer. I love the sound of birds in the morning. If you ignore the highway, it is very nice.I miss the sounds of the frogs and crickets chirping at night and the birds singing. Re: I See Halloween People...365
My grandmother lives on a busy road like that, and just up the hill is also a free way.
So it's pretty noisey, but there are some woods out back and tall grass.
But she never liked going out back because of snakes.
(Not the grandma I live with. The other one)
