Well..the shadows are getting longer, the days are getting shorter, the leaves are starting to fall, and I'm getting more and more psyched about Halloween! How about you guys?

I can feel the chill in the air, the smell, Halloween. The season when all security and comfort falls and the spirits moan, listen, you can hear their ghostly calls. The world becomes black, and the ghouls roam the Earth. You are never safe on Halloween. It is back.

I just made that crappy poem up right now.

Yes, it's a feeling of excitement mixed with sentiment and a dash of melancholy.

I noticed the shadows just the other evening too.

There is a stand of 100' fir trees on the horizon at home that I gauge the seasons with.

This time of year the sun starts to set behind them as our orbit moves back to the Autumn position.

Amazing isn't it? I could feel that fall chill tonight as well. The leaves have already started to turn, and I look forward to the peak season. The days are starting to get shorter, it's already getting darker out earlier.
And some exciting news, I've got a baby pumpkin growing! It's so cute right now, just a tiny little green thing, and I've got some even tinier ones budding right now. I was worried they wouldn't turn out, but this nice long vine I've got looks very promising.

This is going to sound goofy, but I purchased several cans of febreeze's autumn spice and pumpkin harvest air fresheners the other day in order to make our house smell "Halloweenish". Spray a little of one and then the other...
That scent will definitely get you in a mood for the season.

I just bought a bunch of pumpkin spice candles from Wal-Mart. I light them at night when I'm working on the 'puter, makes for a spooky atmosphere and it smells good too.

I love the cool fall air, and how it gets to be a more comfortable temperature than the hot and humid sticky weather of the summer.
Unfortunately the transitional phase from one season to another is a killer for my allergies. xX
Once that transitional phase is over, I'll be enjoying that crisp smell of the fall leaves and the cool weather. Right now we are getting rain, and going from hot weather to rain all of a sudden kicks up my sinuses. It won't last forever though. I'll be fine once the transitional phase is over and we're officially in fall. Then we'll hit another transitional phase in the winter. Fun. But usually going from summer to fall and winter to spring is the roughest. Yet, spring and fall are my favorite seasons with fall being the most favorite and spring the second favorite.

I just got the same stuff!! It smells ok. I need some Yankie Candle stuff. I haven't had the chance to do any shopping. On my to do list next weekend.

Still VERY hot here. It was cool a week or so ago. But now, temp hovering around 85 with high humidity. Insects are almost plague like.

Yeah, it's still hanging in the low eighties around here during the day, but it gets downright cool in the evening. Chilly in the morning, actually.

Well despite my allergies acting up I am excited about the cooler weather. I'm also excited about my little pumpkin. This is my first time growing them so I really hope it turns out!
