I'm getting that itch I always get around this time. I've begun to dig into my Halloween decorations. I need to buy some arts and craft supplies. Does anyone have any ideas? I want to stock up on items that I can make all kinds of decorations from. Thanks

I'm still loking forward to 4 or 5 more months of motorcycle riding, and next weekend I am going to make my annual fireworks run. I usualy don't get the itch until around the tale end of august.

If you have a Micheal's near you that is definitely the place to go for craft supplies. They usually put their stock out early so people have time to finish their projects in time for Halloween.
If you want some ideas, my Pinterest crafts board is a good place to start...

Some awesome ideas, indeed, Nevermore.
I get this suspicion that if I were to attempt any of these projects none of the finished products would much resemble the photos...I'm severely artistically challenged.

Ah yes... the old Pinterest fail. There are whole blogs devoted to this phenomenon.

Had me rolling until I realized the so-called "fails" are probably of a much higher caliber than I could produce.
I will say this though: If I ever, and I mean EVER, cross paths with those masterfully prepared Cookie Monster cupcakes, it's all over. They will be devoured at a rate previously unknown to mankind. That icing looks amazingly delicious for some reason (clearly I'm referring to the correctly done version, the "nailed it" version looks like runny blue toothpaste)
But what can I say, you're either an icing lover, or an icing hater, and I'm squarely the former.

You realize of course, those Cookie Monster cupcakes can be quite fattening.
I'd heed the advice below.

Oh, I'm sure they are dreadfully sinful nutritionally. I've been on a pretty strict cut dating back to January, so items of this nature are exceptionally appealing to me right now, but my word, those Cookie Monster cupcakes just upped the ante to an entirely new level of cravings.
Did I mention that blue fur icing surrounding that chococate chip cookie looks scrumptious?
I'll heed your advice and aim my sights on an Oscar the Grouch pastry of some sort.

don't rush it because once it's over you're left with a void, an empty feeling inside and your head becomes tormented by Christmas carols that seem to ring for months. Why just last week some church was playing a Christmas song on the hour. I used to rush the days for Halloween now I see the days before as a prelude and a part. Plant some pumpkins so the Great Pumpkin wont pass you by. Sometime the climb up the slope is just as rewarding as the slide down. Halloween Foreplay Long Time(think that was a song by Boston)plant a pumpkin monster right now to tide you over until that feeling grows inside and you just can't wait to put on your costume and enter the spooky zone.

One of the major cruise ship companies is ALREADY advertising for their Christmas cruise, and right now, I am enjoying Summer. Halloween is still a little ways off, but I can't believe that I'm already hearing Christmas on tv adds in June.

The Merry Celeste? lol I would of thought after all the stories and problems with cruise ships they'd tone it down a bit. It's a growing trend for anyone selling xmas. Just look at Walmart they're taking their Halloween stuff down and replacing it with ho ho ho stuff long before Halloween which they didn't put up until mid September last year.
As someone who pushes Halloween stuff I take the page out of their book and push Halloween stuff way before.

Tell the truth! You like school sales because it means the kids will soon be out of your hair most of the day. Mmm?

Love the Pintrist links, Nevermore. I used to do dollhouse miniatures, and I can tell you it was insanely frustrating. I don't know how committed crafters do it.
