Alabama gulf coast is a great area with plenty to do. Mardis Gras in Mobile predates the one in New Orleans.

Ahh! I was going to ask where Foley is. Yes, the AL Gulf Coast may be my favorite coast anywhere.

Speaking of...

This is Billy Redden, the guy who played the "dueling banjos" kid in Deliverance. He works at the Walmart in Clayton, Georgia.

Is there any place on this planet that doesn'thave a Walmart?

Clayton is in the extreme northeast part of the state and is still pretty and has not been torn up by development. But you can see that Wally World is there.

Don't forget Cool Hand Luke! (filmed in California btw) If you look in the background you can see pretty big hills, none of which can be found in Florida unless you go to Disney World.

James Dickey wrote the book Deliverance, and he was from Atlanta and was a big bow hunter. I ran into him in Savannah at a hunting convention, and since I knew he was going to be there I brought my hardback copy of the book and he signed it for me. Nice guy and not pretentious at all. He moved to South Carolina and died there back in the late 1990's if I'm not mistaken.

Oh, neat story! It's always nice to get an autographed copy.
