I need skulls!!!!

I have this problem every year, or I have since Anatomical Supply Company decided to jack up the price of their 4th quality Bucky skulls (the first year I bought them, I got 'em for under seven bucks a piece, and I wish I'd bought fifty instead of ten). I need skulls. I need 'em to be fairly realistic, and actual human sized. I need 'em to be about five bucks a piece at most. I keep looking at these http://www.superwholesaler.com/merchand ... ing-skull/ , but I'm thinking they're gonna be too small. The past few years, I've gotten some foam ones at Walmart and Party City, but pre-Halloween they cost too much for a bulk purchase, and post they're cleared out. I'm gonna try to make a mold of one of my Buckys that I can make plaster castings from, but I'd really love to have a place where I could order a big box of skulls; plastic, resin, plaster or foam, that look realistic and hopefully have movable jaws. Has anybody found any anywhere you could recommend? Anybody had any luck with mold-making?

Mac, I have about 5 of these, and as I recall they are pretty much full size, they look like the ones you have in that link but missing the lower jaw and a little bigger...

these are a bit more tho but they go 50% off after Halloween (I know thats too late for us now tho)

Plaster cast is a great idea. You can get the plaster casting material at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. I made a plaster cast of my finger to send Halloween invites last year. Martha Stewart idea that look cool.

But I have to ask why you need them in bulk every year. Do you destroy them? Do they get stolen? Just curious.

You can have the ones I've planted here and there around the property.

They should be ready in 5-10 years...

Just wondering. Stranger things have happened.

Maybe he's just lazy and throws them away at the end of Halloween, like so many paper plates after a picnic.

You can never have enough skulls. Well, I can never have enough, anyway. The buckys I bought a few years back I used for various props; the foam ones I bought I've used for fencepost toppers, and I keep expanding the fence, so I keep using up the skulls. I've been planning a lighted skull-stack for a few years, but haven't gotten around to it yet because I don't want to exhaust my limited supply. I also want to corpsify a few more.

So I was browsing the net, and I came across someone who was making a silicone mold of a rock using silicone caulk. Well, I'd love a flexible silicone mold, because I could cast plaster, cement, or spray foam (I'll do a latex layer first). So I bought a few tubes (has to be 100% silicone), and I'm working on a mold of a jawless Bucky skull to start. It seems to be working really well so far, and if it's successful I'll post steps and procedure. Maybe even take some pics while making a mold of a skull with a jaw.

That's a good idea, an endless supply of skulls

I would cast some in quik-crete and place them in a stone wall.

I don't have a wall to put them in, but I wouldn't mind leaving them out in the yard year 'round.

Use them like rocks and make a border around a flower bed. Mix some moss with sour buttermilk and paint them. The moss is nourished by the buttermilk and it spreads quickly to add an aged look to skulls and other garden objects.

You buy buttermilk at the store, and let it sit out on your back porch for two or three days.

Personally I think that fresh buttermilk is one of the most disgusting liquids ever.

Seriously, who was the first person to taste it and think "Wow, that's great!"...?

I don't like drinking buttermilk straight, but you absolutely can't make good pancakes without it, and it makes excellent cornbread.
