Where do you get your pumpkins?

Do you have a special way to carve a pumpkin?

Where do you get your pumpkins?

Post by Andybev01 » Mon May 05, 2008 5:37 pm

I go here. http://www.aratapumpkinfarm.com/about_us.html

From the web site:

"The Arata Pumpkin Farm is the oldest working pumpkin farm in San Mateo County, California. Pumpkins have been a way of life at the Arata Farm since 1932."

Wow that straw maze is sweet. I wanna go there.

I get mine from various pumpkin patches around the area. None as cool or established as yours though.

I've been going here:

I used to go to Young's Farm in Dewey, AZ... they sold their farm a couple years back.

Also, Albertson's has a good selection of carve-able p-kins for cheap. =)

You're right. Albertson's does have nice pumpkins. I think I've gotten one or two there before. They've pretty much all closed down in this area though.

As far as grocery stores go Albertson's probably has the best ones. Wal-Mart's are no good most of the time. If any of you have Tom Thumb grocery stores theirs can be decent. Their pumpkins are usually on the smaller side but really vivid orange and well shaped. Nice to look at.

I drove past last weekend and they still have the straw maze set up and open for business.

I hope they get new hay this year because even from the road it looked pretty gross; all gray and probably moldy.

P-Yeww!

and thanks to modern technology you could cheat your way through.

Usually wal-mart or whatever has a good buy.
This year however, my mom is growing some and plans to give me one. :)
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

We have a farmers market where I get some of my pumpkins.
Believe it or not, Wal-mart actually has some good ones occasionally.
My brother, though...
That boy can grow pumpkins.

Nice pumpkin!!
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...
