Discarding real pumpkins

Hi all,

So I have what may be the stupidest question ever, but does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with real pumpkins after Halloween is over? I'm building a haunted pumpkin patch in my yard this year and I only carve the artificial ones these days, but I would like to incorporate some of the real guys as well. I wouldn't be carving the real pumpkins so they would still be whole and intact and everything. I just don't know what to do with them once it's over. I don't cook worth a <deleted> so turning them into some kind of treat is obviously out of the question. And I hate the idea of just throwing them away sooo, any suggestions? Does anyone know of anyplace where pumpkins can be donated after Halloween? (again, I know I sound stupid here and I can already feel the side-eyes)

Just trying to get a plan together so I know whether or not I should actually use some real pumpkins or just leave them out of it. Thanks!

Bring them to a zoo or a local farm. Animals loooove to eat them.

toss them off a bridge into the water and watch the splash.....or blow them up with fireworks.............or toss them onto the road and watch them explode...

Where I live there is curbside pick up & they put it all in a compost, for the city to use. I hope this helps!! I'll have to think on this some more. Good luck!

Spooky your soo silly!!

andybev01-that is a fantastic idea! I'll have to check with the zoos around here to see if they'll take them

spooky-I also accept your suggestion with great enthusiasm

Hola again, Witchy. I will also look into your suggestion because that sounds pretty environmentally friendly and that's what we all want :)

I know you said you don't cook, but do you know of anyone who does?

Perhaps they'll like to make Pumpkin Pie?

Just a suggestion.

Good luck in what you choose to do with them. :)

You can always do what we used to do. Smash them in the drive of the old man down the street who's always yelling at you.
