I spent the last three months at sea. I was shanghaied by a group of bloodthirsty Welshmen and forced to serve on a pirate ship. I rose to the ranks of First Mate, and finally earned my freedom by staving off a bombardment by Spanish marauders with a sling shot and a barrel of potatoes. Several bottles of rum and a picture of my sweetheart were all that sustained me during this difficult time.
