My wife & I are going to watch 'Bram Stoker's Dracula' tonight. I really like that one.

JC's Halloween. AMC is doing a pop-up video thing. It's so distracting! I'm actually watching the movie instead of getting any work done.

Well my wife didn't enjoy 'Bram Stoker's Dracula.' It was her first time watching it. Tonight I think i'm going to watch Halloween H2O.

That one is my favorite Dracula, but I must say that I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it. I think it was a slightly miscast--Keanu and Winona should have never been in that movie. I think better actors could have been found that at least if they didn't have the accent naturally, could have pulled it off believablyJack Skellington wrote:Well my wife didn't enjoy 'Bram Stoker's Dracula.' Re: Whatcha watchin right now?
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that! It is actually pretty close to the book (except I don't think the book has that back-story about Mina being Dracula's reincarnated wife). Was your wife unfamiliar with the original Dracula story? Or was there something about the casting she disliked?
One thing I love about that movie is the way they capture that late-19th century, fin de siecle feel during the section where Dracula is young again and courting Mina in London. I also enjoy some of the film techniques which recall films from previous decades. And the shadow thing with Dracula when Johnathan Harker first meets him is a direct homage to Nosferatu, and very creepy.
ETA: I agree about the miscasting of Keanu in that movie. I have never cared for him much, anyway. However, without Winona Ryder there would have been no movie. It is my understanding that it was her baby from the start.
I went for comedy yesterday--American Werewolf in London in the afternoon, Ghostbusters in the evening.

It is an awesome series I think...love the premise too but the guy that plays the Werewolf is a great actor...love his expressions and bumbling but he also seems so sincere....it's funny yet also has a bite to it as well.witchy wrote:I can't wait for season 2!!Midnite Shadow wrote:'Being Human' all day marathon on Syfy.
