Halloween 3 is good, but Michael Myers wasn't in it.

overnight a chilly cool front rolled into new orleans, producing great weather
sunny with lows in the 40s and highs around 70 for this halloween weekend
took off of work on monday so that i could enjoy a three-day orgy of horror
this morning i'm watching the following movie on amc while drinking coffee

Last night I watched 'The Lost Boys.'
We have friends coming round tonight with their two little girls, so we're going to watch 'Hocus Pocus' & 'Scared Shrekless.'

Re: HIPPIELUVN'S HALLOWEEN HORRORTHON 2011
last night's haunted swamp tour was fun...
it was a half-hour drive from nola down to barataria...
they had live bluegrass music - think deliverance...
with the moon high in the sky it was eerie being out in the swamp on a cool fall night...
the tour guides had great cultural jokes and references for tourists...
for their first year there were several spooktacular scenes set up on the banks of the bayous -
but they need more - and there were ghostly pirates cruising the bayous in boats,
ramming our large touring boat and firing blanks into the night air...
near the end of the tour a deranged, masked cousin was introduced
who was on the boat with the tourists...
he came out with a faux chainsaw (complete with engine noise)
and unnerved many of the tourists, including my fiancee
who screamed her lungs out - it was great

Re: HIPPIELUVN'S HALLOWEEN HORRORTHON 2011
full day of halloween adventures planned
it's an absolutely gorgeous day in new orleans,
sunny with no clouds - high 70s, low 50s...
this morning with my coffee i'm watching old hammer horror films on tcm...
later i'll jump on my bike and ease through our garden district neighborhood...
i'll ride down to magazine street and enjoy a big breakfast of greasy bacon & eggs
while sitting out back in the courtyard at slim goodies, my favorite local diner...
on the way back to our apartment, i'll stop by lafayette cemetery,
park the bike and just walk around in this walled city of the dead...
after that, i'll go home and watch the original john carpenter's halloween on dvd...
then i'll jump on the st. charles streetcar and enjoy the 15-minute ride downtown...
i'll go to the movies on canal street and watch paranormal activity 3 on big screen...
after that i'll walk around the french quarter and marigny,
checking out the halloween decorations and costumed revelers...
then ease over to my favorite watering hole in the french quarter, the pirates alley cafe...
i'll grab a boat drink and sit outdoors with a stephen king book for a while...
around 5:30pm i'll walk over to jimmy buffett's margaritaville cafe,
grab a poboy and another drink then sit out on the second floor balcony...
from this perch i'll watch the halloween parade
which begins across the street at 6:30pm...
after the parade i'll grab a cab back uptown,
meet up with my fiancee and pass out candy to trick r treaters in our neighborhood...
last but not least my girl and i will cuddle up and watch
the new halloween classic trick r treat before the holiday ends...
and...
gotta get to bed early for work the next day...
hope you all have a happy but safe halloween

Re: HIPPIELUVN'S HALLOWEEN HORRORTHON 2011
last year i started my halloween horrorthon in august but beginning this year i will only hold the horrorthon in october so as to give it more meaning otherwise it's just several months of horror movie-watching therefore anything that i watch between now and then will simply be logged into this thread for example lately my wife and i (yes we got married in november around thanksgiving last year) have been watching svengoolie on me-tv where each saturday night he hosts old horror, scifi, spooky-comedy, and b-movies - and last night he hosted this gem which we enjoyed...
