I've heard of people doing that, but when you think about it actually happening it doesn't seem too likely.
But on the chainsaw costume discussion my friend once went as Ash but his chainsaw was a prop. It was rubber and foam filled so it was very light wieght. And even though it sounds like it would look fake he spent about $50-60 on it (this was 17 years ago) and it looked great. he just cut a whole in the back and stuck his hand in.
Of course it was all a lot of work for a lame party, which can often be the case.

Not if the chain is taken out of it.
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

Re: Scary!
when i was around 7 or 8 years old my father pulled the ole i'm going to dress up in the dummy out side's out fit and when my sons come home i'll scare the **** out of them......... it worked
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

The worst thing I ever did was rach out from under my sister's bed and grab her ankle when she got up. I caught all kinds of trouble for that one.

Re: Scary!
Well, my sister and I both laugh about it now a days, but my parents did not think it was too funny back then.
The real kicker was that I didn't actualy grab her ankle with my hand. I had this skelitol hand that was handed out to all the cub scouts at the Pack 3617 Cub Scout Halloween Party. It had bendable wire inside of the plastic bones, so I could bend then into a grabbing position which is what I did. As soon as I saw my sister's ankle come down, my warped sense of humer over rode all common sense, and I put this skelitol hand right around her ankle. She let out a scream that woke up the entire house.
