WOW!! That hearkens back to the days of the Salem Witch Trials where some one who didn't like their neigobor could make an accusation ant have him executed as a witch.

I remember reading on line a few years back, that as recently as 1888, a woman in Illinois was actually hung for witch craft, and when they buried her, they dated her death date to b e February 31st so she couldn't come back for vengeance on the anniversary of her execution.
