Re: How is everyone doing on their Halloween preps?
I can't wait to start decorating. My wife and I have a problem this year though. Our front yard had two trees in it that we used to hang heads and such from. However last year a blizzard damaged one and the other one was sick so had to go. Now we have no where to hang our decorations. Any budget friendly ideas?

fishing line is cheap, invisible (mostly) and can be used to hang things...but..then..you have to have something
to tie the ends too. hmmmm....I guess I'd have to see your yard to think of alternatives! lol

Got any 2x4 wood laying around? You could build yourself a cheap hangman's stand.

That's cool.
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

I need to find a Carl Kolchak hat that doesn't cost more than an arm and a leg. I could really use a 69 Mustang convertable too.

Andy, your ghost looks really nice. I normally would have started my Halloween decorating already, but my husband wants to swap the bedroom for my office. My office faces the back of the house which is a wooded hill and is darker which will make for easier sleeping. However, all the furniture from my office is crammed into the living room and kitchen. We're hoping to get finished up this coming weekend, so hopefully I can start then. I did finally get my invitations made. I'll post pictures later.
We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.

Re: How is everyone doing on their Halloween preps?
I haven't really done much. I've bought a few bags of candy--it's easier to spread that out and spend five bucks here and there instead of having to spend fifty at the last minute. I need to buy an alligator/crocodile and a few
pirate-y type things. I've thought about making some massive Kraken tenticles coming out from the side of the house, but I'm having trouble finding the time and energy to do so. I'm in the midst of helping out with my sister's upcoming wedding, so a lot of things have pushed onto the back burner

Re: How is everyone doing on their Halloween preps?
Well, I'm finding my "Arabian Nights" display costing waaaaaayyy more than we have spent in previous years; mostly due to the material we are buying. Although it is only 1.00 a yard, we set up the perimeter of our tent, and realized 1) we were short on material for the perimeter, and 2) we are short on material for the 'roof'....dammit!
We did find a belly dancer to perform for 75.00..(awesome), and we have a henna tattoo artist coming for 1 hour (this is all for the adult party on the 27th)
I also found out that I am short on candy. I always make up bags, so that I can make sure I have enough.
That HUGE bag of candy only made 94 bags...we always have 240+....soooo more candy is needed too!
I took a part time temp job that only lasts until Halloween, taking orders for Halloween costumes for a national website...that'll help pay!
sooo, I guess I'm halfway?..got to work, go to work, go to work..
lol

My decorations go up this Friday. Just 5 more short days, including today.

I'm taking a trip to CA first weekend in Oct., probably won't put up anything until I get back.
