Yuck, I was in Stop & Shop but I'm sure most grocery stores will start putting it out soon if it's not out already. They also had the candy corn pumpkin things too.NeverMore wrote:

Re: Early Halloween Sightings!
I believe we went over this last season but anyway for newcomers. I love Halloween but hate candy corn. Somehow I usually end up trying it every year and always find it disgusting. If you enjoy it please go ahead I'll stick to other treats that don't taste waxy.Andybev01 wrote:You're not from 'round here, are you stranger?Demonic Duck wrote:I was in the grocery store last night and they had out their Halloween candy...including that ever gross candy corn.

Long live candy corn! Stuff is ridiculously good. Only surpassed by those amazing mallow pumpkins you referenced, D. Duck!

Re: Early Halloween Sightings!
This isn't really a Halloween sighting but an autumnal one. There is a tree at my mom's that does not get much sunlight and the leaves have already started changing colors and falling off the tree. It definitely made me take a second look.

Andy, I love crows & ravens also. I have two wall hanging ravens. They're flat on the back but dimensional in front. One is perching wings closed on a branch. The other is flying with wings spread and legs out as if it's coming in for a landing.
dd, I know what you mean. I love Dept 56 but they are pretty pricy. Mostly I just grab the accent pieces, though my in-laws will sometimes get me the houses for Christmas. Always with the disclaimer they feel weird giving me Halloween stuff at Christmas, but I keep telling them I don't mind!
Witchy, thanx. I hope to find much more!

We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.

Re: Early Halloween Sightings!
You and me both, Big_Guh. I like putting out a candy mix of Indian corn, Mallow pumpkins and Halloween M&Ms. Of course, now M&Ms has replaced the Halloween colors with more generic Autumn colors, which I think is bogus. Still use them, though.Big_Guh wrote:Long live candy corn! Stuff is ridiculously good. Only surpassed by those amazing mallow pumpkins you referenced, D. Duck!

Re: Early Halloween Sightings!
That we will big guh but that's ok.
Scarecrow we try to buy one big piece every year and a small piece or two. The best was when a place nearby me decided they were going to stop carrying it because not enough people bought it anymore(for shame). They marked their whole inventory 50% off. We were able to double our normal purchase. We even went back a few months later and got a few more accent pieces.
I am also excited for the Grim Reaper exchange it was a lot of fun last year. Hopefully we get more victims this year!
