Universal to Reboot Classic Monsters

This could be done really well or suck terribly.

Even if they screw it up the classics will endure.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Didn't read the article yet. Need to go get some work done. You taking about the classics like Freddy and Jigsaw and Jason? Just kidding. Horror shows are all the vogue right now, it's about time we bring back the oldies for a new generation.

I've been waiting for a remake of the Creature from the Black Lagoon for years now. Every so often you'll read a blurb in Fangoria, but so far no Creature. But if it comes out and bites the big one, I still have the original and I'm good with that too.

I wonder if a remake of Wolfman would have a greater and more obvious social message than the original?

Do you make the new Frankenstein look as much like Boris Karloff or go for a different look?

With the death of Communism in Eastern Europe do you make Dracula a modern vampire or stick closer to the 30s version?

Do you make all the movies in color or stick to black and white?

As an aside. In the movie "Stripes" when Bill Murray does that Do-Wa-Diddy thing....That part was filmed at Ft Knox Kentucky. If you look in the background you see barracks. Those were the same barracks I stayed in when I went through Basic Training. Needless to say Bill tried his best to look cool like me, but he just couldn't pull it off 8) 8) 8) 8)

Well... the good news first? Universal is going to try to create a Marvel style universe for it's monsters. Meaning, I guess, that we'll see guest appearances in the movies and have assemble movies in which all the monsters star.

The bad news... they aren't going to even try to make them scary, they are moving the monsters into the action/adventure genre. Probably gonna be more like Brendon Frasier's mummy than Bela Lugosi's Dracula. Could work but I'd rather see some attempt at horror.
