We went to Roanoke on Sunday; and it was great fun! One of the stores at one of the malls we went to; a craft store similar to Micheal's though I can't remember the name of it (maybe it was AC Moore's but I'm not positive) had some Halloween stuff out. It felt refreshing to look at this stuff.

I also treated myself to some pumpkin spice air fresheners at Yankee candle, and they even had a little something for my car. I also got a candle for $5.00 which normally would have cost me quite a bit more. I liked their apple and pumpkin spice ones as well, but I think they only came in the big candles. They had some cute plug in candles as well, but I decided not to go too overboard. The scent of pumpkin spice is essential when transforming the home into an autumn paradise. :)

I saw Cadbury "Scream" eggs at Dollar General. So I got one. Couldn't resist.

If you got a Yankee candle for $5, I salute you, ma'am!

I got lucky I guess. I think I got a pretty good deal on those airfresheners too.

Now if I can just find a safe place to put the candle so the cats don't get to it.

Here's a picture of my loot:

They are! I want to save them for October though. I wonder if I should invest in a candle warmer, maybe that would be safer around the cats instead of lighting the candles? Opinions on this? That's one reason I rather go for air fresheners than candles because of my pet concerns. Heights don't matter with cats either. They find a way to jump to the highest shelves in our home. I have a few of the pumpkin spice tea lights but I never lit them. I just used them for decorative purposes.

I like getting the electric candles if I want the effect. And then for the jack o lanterns I like using the strobe lights that go in them. Though this year I want to try the smoke bombs like Mike suggested, though it'll be outside away from the cats.
