As one of the original Dark Shadows fans in the late '60s, I enjoy the Depp/Burton comic take, too.

I watched Halloween II yesterday. Can you believe I'd never seen it before? Not as good as the first one, but OK for a sequel. I guess I have a macabre sense of humor, b/c I laughed when I realized that Ben Tramor, Laurie's crush from the first movie, is the one who gets torched in the car crash early on.

That Dracula is in my seasonal rotation, too.

A couple of days ago I picked up Pumpkinhead on DVD. I had never seen it. I thought it was an above-average horror film even though it does include the death of a child, which is usually a big turn-off for me.

I also watched my DVD of Phantom of the Opera. This would be the 25th anniversary of the stage musical, filmed at Royal Albert Hall in London. I love this production.
