Haunted Horseman wrote:tantraman, this is not the time nor the place for a debate on the subject, but I must say I wholeheartedly disagree with any and all outlandish conspiracy theories. I created this threat simply because I believe these people were American Hero's and should be honored. I was across the river at the time and witnessed the whole tragedy. I have friends who lost friends. To say our government knew about it is absurd and insulting. Enough Said, I just had to get that off my chest. I apologize to anyone reading this threat, I do not wish to turn this into a political discuss.
No, No disrespect whatsoever. I felt it was a terrible thing that happened. I dont think it should of happened to any country. I just feel that there was more to it then just oops some people hijacked the planes and sent them into it. Something just wasnt right there, it doesnt stick for me, but again it is only my opinion. It is funny I was just on cnn.com and the poll was should we put 9/11 behind us. well it turns out 51 % voted yes. it is crazy. It was a bad time. But what about columbine, or the other tragic events hurricane Katrine. Maybe have a memorial tragedy day. That would be a nice gesture.
happy happy halloween silver shamrock.

Well said, HH!!! I agree with you whole heartedly!

And you, too, LordBaphomet... Exept for it being a 'holiday', I agree totally. You're Dad would be proud.

why isnt this day a "holiday" yet?
It is a memorial, not a "holiday."

Hard to believe it's been six years.
Was crying at work yesterday during the ceremonies at Ground Zero..walked by and they were doing the moment of silence..
One of my pals is a flight attendent who got stuck in St. Louis with Tiger Woods. She phoned the first night and kept it simple..told me she was alright and thanked me for baby sitting her dog.
Her connection to the even itself was modest..she knew one of the ladies lost in one of the planes by name, but not to talk to..
At work the night of 9/11, we heard some helicopters heading over and my boss asked if I knew what that meant. I told him I did. That all the burn beds from New York and up the Ohio/Tennesse Valley had been full..and we were taking them now. He nodded silently.
Still gets me right THERE when I see the Twin Towers on Friends.
One of the ladies at work had a relative that was close to the widow of one. The guy was employed to a large large company..and when you screwed up, they send you to South America..where you would either kick the bottle or die. Well, this guy found out there was a betting line on if he would even show UP for work in this South American town, and got so hacked off he started to get movitated, and fought his way all the way back to New York. Real cheerleader/positive thinking/ can do guy by the end.
yeah. You got it. He was positive right up to the second plane hitting him. The widow sees it as a triumph..he made it all the way back and to the Towers and was still going in early in the morning to set the world on fire..South American wrote up and said how proud they were he died on his feet a winner and not on his knees.
I dug that.
And yes, you guessed it. The song about riding the bull named Fu manchu and living life like you're dying is one of her faves.
Future events such as these will effect you in the future
