Should I tell??
Okay, my daughter is TERRIFIED of clowns, and I just found out the haunted corn maze we will be going to this weekend has one entire section with nothing but clowns. So, do I warn her and let her back out or do I let her be SURPRISED. By the way she is 26.

I would probably run out screaming if I saw such a sight, because I vehemently HATE clowns.. but.. if that's the reaction you're going for.. don't tell her
Having said that, I would probably be nice and warn her - when you are actually there - maybe say something playful like "I wouldn't go down that aisle if I were you..." then her sense of morbid curiousity will probably cause her to look, and if she is scared, at least your conscience knows you warned her

I would tell her personally, I think if she is terrified of them it would just be cruel. Why ruin something that is supposed to be fun scary and make it a bad memory for her? I would be mad as heck if someone did not tell me that somewhere we were going had snakes.

tell her
My Oh My .....This is such a rare opportunity to know ahead of time that she is going to be scared....I mean at 26 how bad could it be lol....I say surprise her and savor every delightful moment you have until the deed is done. After all ...we all love a good scare and it may create one of those moments that you will talk about every Halloween....."hey remember the year he maze had all those clowns?

Personally, I stand behind SpookieLil.Katriona on this matter. If this is truly a "Fear" then sending her into something that she is terrified of is very cruel, to me anyways. Not only could it leave her with a bad memory of the event, and of you for not respecting her fears, it could cause Physical Trauma depending on how severe her Fear is, not to mention the Pychological damage, again, like I say, this depends on the level of her fear, but terrible things could happen, honestly.
I agree with Katriona on this that its suppose to be a fun outing, or fun scary that leaves good memories, and deepens your relationship. I'd be VERY HURT if that was done to me, that is after I finished having my massive Panic Attack or worse.
I say, tell her about it, and let her make an informed choice as to wether she'd want to give it a try, there's always alternatives that would be mutually fun.
good Luck on deciding, in the end, you know her best.

Okay, I warned her there would be clowns. She is going anyway as long as they will let her walk through with someone. It should be an intresting thing to witness, cannot wait. But there will be a surprise for her. I have a friend working there, so the clowns will just happen to be calling her name when she walks through. She loves all this haunted stuff as much as I do, so she will laugh as hard as I will at the end.
