Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul

Uncletor's suggestion of a trailer tape (or DVD), is a very good idea, especially if it will be on as background entertainment, and not the focus of attention. A two-minute trailer offers just enough cheap thrills for the curious, without requiring a long time away from socializing. And you don't feel guilty about talking while a trailer is playing.

The Burbs
No one mentioned "The Burbs" with Tom Hanks. This is one of the funniest movies and have loved it ever since I was a teen. It's a horror film almost anyone can appreciate. I played this at my 18th birthday party and it was a great success then, of course 17 years have passed so I hope I'm not too steeped in nostalgia to give an accurate gauge of good, but we still enjoyed watching it this year already.
Other favorites are the classic Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolf Man. Not really party material though.
