What is a webkins?

Okay, I admit it I am not as young as most of yall. So, please tell me what the heck is a Web kins? Granddaughter wants one and all this stuff she has named to go with it. Before I go in a store and ask, what exactly is it?

In brief, they are stuffed animals that include a piece of paper with a code that lets you play with them on-line.

They can be fun, and it seems safe, but kids can want to spend too much time on-line!
