I have some weird ones that just remind me of Halloween because of the timing of their releases when I first heard them. One is "That Lady" by the Isley Brothers, which was released the last week of October in...um...1972, maybe? Another is Chicago's "If You Leave Me Now," which for some reason I can't discern reminds me of walking to school in the first early days of September, past the field that was turning wheat-yellow.
I also like some generally "magical" ones: Van Morrison's "Night Magic," Santana's "Black Magic Woman". Cheesey favorites include "Devil Woman" (I can't remember the artist's name...some 70s guy with blunt-cut 70s hair and probably a few gold chains and a hairy chest)...I also love The Eagles' "Witchy Woman".
For a few slightly more contemporary than 1978 ones, I usually choose something from Rob Zombie...a perennial favorite artist of mine.

Re: What Do You Listen To On Halloween?
Here's a song I thought would get some of you in the mood for Halloween. It's a song by King Diamond called Give Me Your Soul. I was about 7-8 when I started listening to him. Back then I picked up Bass because of King Diamond, I thought he was the greatest.

Ooh, I added this one to my Autumn Mix on YouTube.Pumpkin King wrote:Title says it all. Since 2002 I've listened to a certain band all year long. I listen to them all day on Halloween. Lordi! Why? Well lets say because they are monsters! They sing Hard Rock/Heavy Metal but not the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal these days. They make their music sound like the 70's -80's style. What do you listen to?
Mind if I link a music video?

I also listen to Michael Jackson's Thriller and Spooky Sounds.

If your interested, there's another version to the song. The one I posted before was remastered with the band's new Keyboardist & Bassist. Here is the original.HalloweenMelanie wrote:Ooh, I added this one to my Autumn Mix on YouTube.Pumpkin King wrote:Title says it all. Since 2002 I've listened to a certain band all year long. Re: What Do You Listen To On Halloween?
The week before Halloween I start playing my homemade Halloween CD. It has music ranging from Frank Sinatra's 'Old Black Magic' to kids Halloween music. I have about 30 songs or so on it, a lot of it 'cocktail' music that has some kind of spooky twist to it. I call it Stormy's Creepy Classic Halloween CD. The kids music is very mild. Dh is only 6.5 and I don't want to scare him. But I hate most of the kids Halloween music so I am very selective. This year I'm going to have to add another CD. It is getting harder to find the 'cocktail' type spooky music though.
