My Halloween spirit always 'dies' after Halloween then perks up again during the year. Like now for instance, it's back for a while then it'll be gone soon. There's nothing I can do about it, I'm most-active around October-time when Halloween is near. My spirit just comes and goes. :?

I don't know about other areas, but around here (southern Indiana) Halloween is huge. People go all out. I'd say it's probably second only to Christmas.

down the road from my little corner of California is the town of Half Moon Bay where they have held a Pumpkin Festival for over 30 years, and there is a huge pumpkin growing industry along the coastline where the cool, damp but sunny weather is ideal for growing future JOL's.

You know autumn is coming when you drive on coast highway 1 and see the splattered remains of fresh pumpkins that have fallen off of delivery trucks here and there. :D

I know how you feel.
I'm starting to get hyped about Halloween because I know it won't be much longer before the first decorations start appearing in stores. That usually happens a few weeks after The 4th of July. Then I'll settle down for awhile until it's time to start decorating inside the house. After the holiday, I console myself by raiding all the stores for their steeply discounted Halloween items. Then the melancholy sets in.

There is NO way for Halloween to die, for what?!? Absolutely Nothing! And, no reason for Halloween to die! Halloween is alive and will always be there every year. ;)

don't think Halloween will ever "die" per se, but it is June. Many are preparing for the 4th of July, myself included. I am planning to go pick up some fireworks
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree 100%

I'm the same way I'm a big 4th of July Firework type of guy I love Fireworks and this time of the year I'm stocking up on the good stuff ton of fireworks!!! I don't know what it is But between December-July its all About The Fireworks don't get me wrong nothing makes me more happy then Halloween and its my favorite holiday. But for some reason Usually around this Time the Halloween bug bites and I can't wait for it. But This year has been rough on me So hopefully after this month I will have better days ahead of me. I usually plan for the 4th and after Its overdrive until the final destination of Halloween. Don't get me wrong right now I'm thinking about what I can do this year but when the weather turns right cool and crisp you get that certain feeling fall of the year. That's when I really like it. But August-October is all Halloween. Really late September and all of October is my Favorite the decorations goes up. And hopefully Halloween movies come on. Unlike last year cough dumb stupid election cough cough that pretty much ruined last years Halloween. Which if you dig in the archives you'll find many write ups I did about the stupid election taking over Halloween. Plus the reason I haven't been on isn't because my heart isn't with Halloween Its cause I have been working and my computer crashed and I had to get a new one. But Halloween is really sad when its over but now is the most exciting time.
HALLOWEEN 2011 THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS!!!!

You know? The funny thing is, I also set off fireworks in October and on Halloween. Our family gets together for a Halloween Bonfire in late September. I allways throw a brick of fire crackers in the fire to scare everone. And I often get the Halloween bug throughout the entire year. We had two Friday the 13ths this year. February and March, with onem ore in November. I allways put out a fake jack o'lantern when it's Friday the 13th.

But I can't wait to make my fireworks trip this year. And since I'm not spending nearly as much as Iuse to on food. I'll have plenty of money to play around with, too.

Mike

It depends on where you live. Here it would be a little close, but you could have success. The variety that I'm trying says 115 days to harvest but it can be very cold, even in the summer, so I started mine about 2 months ago and only now are flowers showing up.
