Racism has been around since the beginning of time, it will most likely be around until the end of time.

Re: Swine Flu
EMuertoMan, you hit the nail right on the head. The people making those assinine comments are STUPID, and that's with a capital "S" Don't take what they say to heart, because it's not worth it. If it becomes a problem where they are interfering with your school work or job or what ever, then you should report their behaviour to the proper authorities.
And yes, it may be true, that racism has been with is for as long as there have been humans on this planet, and likely will be with us for all time, that makes it no less stupid. I saw some very interesting documenteries about Adolf Hitler, and his rise to power. In one of these shows, it explained some of the "scientific" reasoning behind the antisemitism in Germany at that time. "The Jews have big noses" "The Jews have shifty eyes" "The shape fo th eir skulls is different" "They Jews smell bad" Just rediculous, down right laughable propaganda that no serious scientist now or then would even look at with a straight face. I've studied the Holocaust and have watch miles and miles of film about it for many years. Since I was in grammer school, and to this very day, I can't figure out how a race as intelligent and as enlightened as the Germans could be taken in by such nonsense that spewed fourth from the Nazi's propaganda mill.
So don't waist your time paying these bafoons any mind.

Re: Swine Flu
I just read a headline yesterday:
Half of U.S. population could get swine flu.
Is anyone even still worrying about swine flu? I keep thinking it's all over until I see doom and gloom headlines on the news.

Re: Swine Flu
Doom & gloom headlines are only good for causing panic to get people to buy newspapers. Half the U.S. Population? COW COOKIES!!!
Last night I was watching one of my favorite programs on the History channel. "The Universe." Some company is ACTUALY HAVING A LOTTERY for a place in a "shelter" for the prophecy that's supposed to happen in December of 2012. Now I jsut have to wonder, now many gullible individuals are going to rush over to their computers, log on to that company's web site, and spend bookoo bucks on a many "chances" as they can get, and when December of 2012 comes and goes, they will have some serious egg on their faces. Meanwhile, some con man is going to rake in millions or maybe even billions.
Maye I'm in the wrong business. I wonder if I could get rich as a prophet of doom. the photography business is okay, I'm making a living at it, but I wonder if I cold become a Multi millionare, or even a billionare if I con people out of their hard-earned (or hardly earned in some cases) money by selling rafflt tickets to a hole in the ground?
The question indeed does warrent pondering.

Re: Swine Flu
Ok, That was quite interesting that I heard some kids from North Eastern in PA already had swine flu, and the school is now out for 10 days! Is that true???
But luckily, I have no problem with swine flu around here in South Eastern VA. I've not tested for flu this time, maybe two weeks later.
I have to get a flu vaccine before it's going to be too late.

Re: Swine Flu
I work at a community college, and they have posters all over the place telling people to cover their mouths, wash their hands and even has detailed instructions up in the rest rooms on how to properly lather up your hands and rinse them off. We have yet to see ONE CASE of H1N1 out of over 15,000 students. MILARKY! A whole lot of panic over nothing.

How do you treat Swine Flu?
"Oink-ment"
How do you cure Bird Flu?
"Tweet-ment"
Be clean. Wash your hands. Cover coughs. Be Smart.
As long as there are humans walking the earth, there will be illness.

Re: Swine Flu
Washing your hands well with soap and covering your face when you cough or sneeze are good rules to follow EVERY DAY! Please wash your hands or at least use Purell after you sneeze or cough, even if you use a tissue. Keep your nails clean. Also:
Keep your hands away from your face - especially don't rub your eyes. This can spread bacteria, viruses, fungus, etc. and cause all kinds of issues, including acne!
Clean your phone at work & at home with alcohol - receiver, buttons, the whole thing. Especially at work, and especially if other people have a habit of using your phone.
There are a lot of other things you can do to try to minimize your risks. Understanding the way things are transmitted is half the battle, so educate yourselves. Stay healthy everybody!

Supposedly the schools around here are giving you free swine flu shots to all the students. Haven't seen anything like that for a long time.

Re: Swine Flu
Washing your hands and covering your mouth when you caugh or sneeze is just plain good manors. Even if all you have is a little head cold, nobody else needs to share it with you. Common sense should dictate that you avoid spreading deseases by practicing good hygene. What gets me is all the fear mongering about H1N1, and how they put up all these patronizing signs and posters giving detailed instructions on something that most of us were taught by our parents when we were babies. And as I said before, I have yet to hear of any H1N1 cases at the community college where I work, and we have THOUSANDS of students and 2500 staff, faculty and administrators, AND we have 5 or 6 satelite campuses.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Re: Swine Flu
something I always find disturbing, when someone comes out of the bathroom, say at a restaurant, and they shake your hand and their hand is wet, you assume it's because they washed it and the blower thingy just didnt get all the water off but in the back of your mind you're thinking what if.......either way, it's disturbing....
