Do you like 'em real or fake?

What do you like to decorate with? That bucket of blood?

Add pumpkin pie spice huh? That's an idea. Of course...my grandma would have a fit if I lit any candles. If I carve a pumpkin it's usually out on the porch with newspapers spread around.
I like both too, although it's kind of a pain disposing of the old one once it gets rotten...and kind of sad. Although the pumpkin will help bring life to new plants...in that compost heap of my dad's! Haha.
I'm thinking about trying to carve watermelon sometime.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

I am in Red Neck Central here in Tennessee. After Halloween the pumpkins go into a line-up. My husband, son and whoever else wants to, take turns at target practice. Both guns and arrows find their way to my prize pumpkins. What is left becomes food for the local wildlife.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

One time, when I was out at my brother's lake, a bunch of hallowed out a few pumpkins, drew faces on them with crayon, filled them with tomato soup, and then shot at them with .22 caliber riffles. It was need to see these pumpkins bleed that tomato soup.

Everyone here takes there pumpkins on November 1st and puts them along the roads on the far sides of the ditches. It's not rare to see them on stumps or on some roacky cliffs...I often wonder how some people manage to get them there lol Then at night the h-core halloweeners go back out and light their pumpkins and others with half burned candels still in them.

...Kinda creepy but cool when you're driving along the forest and you see these random faces staring at you at night :p

Halloween is actualy the night before All Saints Day, which is part of a 3 day celebration, so that would be a nice thing to see. I would love to see something like that when I go on my midnight Halloween motorcycle ride.

It really is quite cool and remember that I'm not talking just a few...there are hundreds along the main-ish roads here...the only issue that people have with it, is it brings the wildlife (bears, cougars, eagles, you name it) right up to the road because they see and think "oh! easy snack!" so needless to say it isn't rare to see a bunch of road kill for a good month but other than that it's awesome :)

I wish my town did that!! Sounds like a lot of fun and its a good way to keep the spirit going into November. Hmmm maybe i'll start that here this year :D.

One of my neighbors keeps a sheet hung off a tree in his woods (which are seen easily from the road), and it looks EXACTLY like a ghost. The first time I saw it I almost jumped out of my car seat  .

Haha a neighbour of mine did something similar too but so many people called it a "driving distraction" he was ordered to take it down

Oh and with the pumpkins, it's one of those things tht if one person does it, everyone will, so it shouldn't be too hard to start :)
