Re: Do adults ever go trick or treating?
I don't think trick or treating should be limited to just children. Why can't the adults join in on the fun? I'd like to think if I ever went to America that I could trick or treat, I've only been once in my own suburb and it wasn't the best experience because not many people celebrate it in my suburb. I'll accept trick or treaters of any age

Re: Do adults ever go trick or treating?
I admit, I sort of miss my TOT days, but unless I was with a child, I would feel too self consience. Besides that, I have to stay home and hand out the cndy to the TOTers, because I live alone. I have as much fon on the other side of the door as I did when I would put on a costume and TOT for candy when I was a kid.
But I agree. And plento of adults with their kids do put on costumes and they do carry their own TOT bags and collect candy. One of the neatest costumes was a mother dressed as a kangroo, and her baby was dressed in a kangaroo costume and sat in her pouch.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

That was pretty creative. I remember when my younges niece was just a baby. My older sister, the childs aunt, use to hand sew her Halloween costumes. She was absolutely awesome at doing this, and has been the reason for my niece winning the costume costume for 3 years in a row. First prize.

Well, I will reitterate my previus statement of promise, that if you or anyone else shows up at my door on Halloween in a costume and you say "Trick or Treat," you will get some candy. And happy Early Birthday.

Re: Do adults ever go trick or treating?
I actually never cared much about the candy, even when I was a kid, but I adored the license to roam the streets in a costume after dark and knock on strangers' doors. I still do love that, so much so that I said I was going to costume and roam the streets this Halloween, when my 12-yr-old daughter (my youngest) announced she wasn't going to TOT. However, now that the holiday is getting closer, she has agreed to go to the one street near our house where most of the houses go all out. It will be a good compromise, I guess. She says she really wants to stay in and watch scary movies on TV. I'm OK with that, but I really want to do both.

I was 13 when I fealt self-consience about TOT. That was really too bad because just about everyone I know TOTed until they were out of high school.

I miss it too. The thing I miss it the most was using my own creativity to make my own Halloween costumes. But, I do enjoy handing out the candy.

I also have a rep for handing out the "good stuff."' Snickers, Reeses Peanutbutter Cups, Butterfingers and Nestles Crunch. Usualy 3 out of the 4, but some years I handed out all 4. My older brother hands out whole boxes of Cracker Jack, and he's MR. POPULARITY at Halloween.

Re: Do adults ever go trick or treating?
I already have tons of candy ready for 'Trick or Treat," and I actualy ate a couple of pieces. I'm just putting on the finishing touches for getting my house ready, and all of my Universal Monster classics are standing by, along with my "Dark Shadows" video tapes and DVDs.
