I'll tell you something a tad more disturbing. I was out on the road. I stopped at a KFC for lunch. After placing my order I had to use the rest room. One of the cooks was doint a #2 on the toilet, and when he finished doing his business, he walked out of the rest room and went back to work without even running the water over his hands. DISGUSTING!!! I told them to cancel my order, and why I canceled it, and I got on my bike and went to another restaurant.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

If I was the owner of that KFC franchise, he would have done it exactly once, then he would be on his way to the unemployment office. There's no excuse for that, expecialy in front of a customer.

not that I am disagreeing with you Mike, but it's possible there is a sink behind the counter he used thats out of sight, but IMO, if he's in the public bathroom he should have used that sink so there was no doubt at all by ANY customers, and especially if there is a customer in there with him. When I stocked shelves in the grocery store I always washed my hands in front of the customers just because I wanted them to know that the person handling their grocery's washed his hands!

that could be true but then that leaves this... from the time he cleaned up his cheeks.. he touched one door, another to get back to the food area, walked through the food area to a sink that's IN THE FOOD AREA with his "i'm not gonna shake with this one" hand lol

Well okay, in fairness to the guy, I could give him the benifit of that doubt, but Adrian does make a good point. He handled two door knobs after wiping himself, walked into the area where the food was prepared, and who knows what he touched after that. Also, other employees also touched that same door know that he did. Additionaly, it is gross when you see some who handles food use a toilet, and not wash his hands afterwords. For the peace of mind of the customer, if you are in the restroom with a customer, was your hands so he can see you do it. That way you won't gross anyone out, and you might even make a good impression.

My 12-year-old son was pretty sick back around the middle of September. It turned out he had swine flu. I've seen him sick before, but this was really something. At one point, his fever spiked to 104.9. My 14-year-old daughter was sick a couple of weeks later, but when I had her checked for the flu, it turned out negative. Her doctor said that it is possible for these nasal swab tests to not pick up on it -- she said that if she had to go by her diagnosis and no test, she'd say my daughter had the flu. One of the junior high schools in our district, which has around 2,000 students, at one point had nearly 500 students out sick. Luckily, neither my husband or I got sick. :D

Glad your son is better.

I see people walk out of the restroom and not wash their hands all the time! Totally gross and should be punished with flogging! hehe Really though.

I'm glad everyone in your family is OK.

My kids and I all got vaccinated for H1N1 last week. Daughter got the mist, the two boys & I got the shot. We were lucky, because they started rationing the shots just hours after we got ours. I was frantic to get them because a child in our town (12 yr old girl, like my daughter) died of it on Oct. 9. The child who died was from a well-connected family and went to a private school. She was a young athlete and had been at basketball practice on Tues. night. By 6 a.m. on Friday morning, she was dead. My husband knew her uncle through Boy Scouting. Her death really rocked our community. Swine flu has been all over the place here since late August/early Sept., though.

I can't believe so many people don't wash their hands! What the effing he!! are they thinking!?!?!? I mean, hell-oh! You are sticking your hand in your butt. Just covering your hand with paper is not going to keep it clean! They should put cameras in those bathrooms to make sure. Anyone who doesn't should be fired. I know it sounds cruel, but there is NO EXCUSE for not washing your hands!

Nobody in my family has gotten the shot. I don't plan to. I feel that it is just to scare the <deleted> out of everyone, too much hype. I always make sure all of our hands are clean and I keep hand sanitizer in my purse for when we go places and can't wash our hands right away. I think everyone just needs to use common courtesy and sense to know how to not spread germs (i.e washing hands, covering mouth when sneezing coughing, etc.). It is normal for people to get sick, it just happens and when it does I just stay home and keep the kids home when they are sick to prevent it from giving it to everyone else and yes it truly does suck when my family gets sick because there are 6 of us (2 adults and 4 children) so I try to keep everyone sterile (LOL). :D

Doesn't seem like many people have common sense. I see people all the time leaving the urinal or the STALL and leaving without a second thought of washing their hands. :pale:

I think I'll start being like Adrian Monk. Use a hand wipe every time I shake hands.
