well, yes, a "Bucky" is a lab skeleton, lots of sites now sell them and they come in 1st, 2nds, 3rd, and 4th quality, 4th being the worse and cheapest, but a 4th, full Bucky, still goes for $120-$150, a half skeleton 4th, head, spine, rib cage and pelvis (no arems) is around $80 ish.....but, a budget barney looks almost as good but made of blown plastic and goes for about $50 full skeleton. A Bucky is made of solid cast (heavy) resin.

I could definitely work around the brown coloration at that price. Heck, brown would probably look good. I've been wanting to get some random arms, legs, and skulls to beef up the mummies I've been planning for. No more half pint undead for my display. I want full sized bad boys. :)

check this out, it looks really good (I've seen one in person at Garden Ridge), not as expensive, $50 at Garden Ridge

I will prolly get a few of these at some point, great for corpsing. The Bucky skulls I have are a lot heavier then I thought they would be. Here's a barney and a bucky side by side

I also like these but they are hard to find at a good price, I got mine for $12 a long time ago but now they go for around $20-$25

That's still a pretty good price. I'll check that site. Thanks.

yea that's not bad at really
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I got my Buckys from Anatomical Supply Company five or six years ago, back when they only cost $100 each.

No, wait... I got one Bucky for that price. The others were bought as head and torso, on sale after Halloween for $30 each; then I bought a set of arms and a set of legs for each of the two torsos I got, so those two Buckys were under a hundred.

I got a bunch of 4th quality Bucky skulls at the same time, when they were selling for five bucks a pop. The only thing wrong with most of them were that the jawbones tended to be warped, which was easily corrected with a hot water bath and a rebending.

One of the happiest days of my life.... Opening that box full of skulls......

the discoloration is the least of the problems with the 4th quality, parts mismatch, things dont fit together quite right, as Mac said, the jaw bones are warped, and on mine the upper teeth area is really, um.......cast poorly, let me show you.....

I still think I can get around that with a Dremel tool and some acrylic paint.

Some must bathe with rubber ducky
Others must have plastic Bucky
Judging others is appalling
