It was good cinematically (is that a word?) but as far as the storyline, I just didn't get it.

Yep it was a great movie to look at, but you really have to pay attention to the twisted timeline.

The twisted timeline was what I liked best about it. Ever see Memento? The entire movie is backwards. That kind of confusion keeps me guessing and keeps me interested.

It's not a series per se, but I'll tell you one horror movie cliché I would love to see put to rest: the "attacked by mutant inbred hillbilly rednecks" line. Once, just once, I'd like to see a group of southern teenagers who get lured in by a bunch of big city New York socialites, who turn out to be killer cannibals.

If they are going to make "Trick 'R Treat 2" then it would be cool to see it! 8) But if they are going to do TRT remake then people will piss off!

Exactly. Slasher movies have run their course. Same formula every time.
1. Psycho killer escapes.
2. Hunts a bunch of teens down one by one.
3. Always manages to kill two of them while they're having <deleted>.
4. One or two survive and find a way to kill the psycho.
5. He's not really dead.
6. Stupid sequel.
7. Worthless series.

P.S: Trick 'r Treat is the perfect pure Halloween movie. I wouldn't mind seeing an endless series of those.

Endless series is what usually cheapens the original, no matter how good it was. The first Halloween is one of the greatest movies ever made, but by the time they got to the one with Coolio, the whole thing was a big joke. I'd hate to see that happen to Trick r Treat.

Coolio!!?

I'm so glad I don't go in for (most) sequels.

DOH!!!!

Remakes in general are a bad idea. Leave the original alone...they are great for a reason. Sequels tend to make it worse and then you forget how awesome the original was.

Nightmare on Elm St. is a perfect example, Midnite. It's easy to forget how scary the original actually was, because Freddy became so watered down in the later sequels.

That series really jumped the shark when Freddy showed up in music videos and talk shows and all kinds of <deleted>...watered down wayyyyyy too much. I kind of enjoyed the 'Freddy Vs. Jason' movie but it wasn't scary...it was silly for the most part.
