All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,

This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

Getting into the spirit yet? Maybe, but it seems this thread is getting into Caturday more.

Re: Getting into the spirit yet?
I'm trying to make the most of every day, enjoying the season I'm in. But my thoughts did flick ahead to the fall a day or so ago. We have very hot, humid summers in TN, so I reach a point where I begin to look forward to the relief of autumn, when the days are milder. We've had a very, very busy summer though, lots of traveling for our older kids, and lots of home projects for us. And I've got a garden I'm tending, so summer is still in full swing for us.
Happy 50th birthday, Mike! That's a milestone, for sure. I am older than you are--am 55, will be 56 at Christmas. In some ways it is a very nice time of life. I feel I can look at life with more authority than I once did. I have lived long enough to remember history. A person starts to prioritize at this age, too, because one knows, realistically, that the future isn't as long as it once was. So I have started to give myself permission to spend my time the way I want to. That includes the kind of work I'm willing to do. It's no longer enough just to work for a paycheck. I have to know that what I am doing with my time is satisfying me in some way. I like to write, so I have a hobby of writing down all the family stories I can remember. Then I distribute them to my various cousins, etc.

Having to unload a bunch of pallets of decorations and setting them up has kind put me out of the spirit

Here is my sweet kitty. Her name is Spooky.
Love the house! I would light that end, on Halloween with a colored spot light. Maybey put a red plastic on the inside windows, so they glow red. Pretty cool.
