I don't want to give it away just yet, but I can tell you it's made out of paper! My costumes are always homemade and I usually aim for originality over scary. I have for the past few years anyway.

Once I have the costume a little further along, I'll take a pic and post it to show off my handiwork.

Paper is my favorite medium. I have a box filled with handmade papers, origami papers that one of my 'mates brings home for me when she goes to Japan, pieces of high-end wrapping paper...a lot of paper.

Except when it comes to head-wear. Then you tend to opt for tin foil.

I think I need to stitch a new cape this year. My old one is getting pretty ratty.

I'm reevaluating my plan to be a dead-ballerina-who-hung-herself-with-slipper-ribbons. I feel like wearing a mask and strolling around Salem again, but on the other hand I need to take my daughter trick-or-treating since I missed out on last year. She's being Coraline so maybe I can be the Other Mother? But that's very boring.

I'm hesitant to share my costume just yet because of paranoia that someone will steal my idea which of course is far from happening.

I need to pull together a good portfolio of past costumes to post in the picture thread. I've posted a couple from the last few years, Lizzy Borden was last year.

Thank you! Last year was great fun but the year before was a little dream come true. I was Witchie Poo from H.R. PuffnStuff ! Anyone who's a child of those times probably remembers seeing H. R. PuffnStuff but you can surely Youtube it to get an idea of how trippy the show was!
