Thanks for the description. I saw some at Walgreens just the other day and almost bought one but I am not sure if those are any good. Has anyone had those? Should I just make my own or try those?

If you wanted to add candy like m&m's when would you add? Would it be to hot to add when rolling to balls? you know so they dont melt or something. ( i cant wait to make them thanks for the recipe)

The problem with store-bought popcorn balls is that they have often been sitting on the shelf for several weeks. By then, they get tasteless beyond the salt and the sweetness of the corn syrup. Homemade popcorn balls have the full flavor of freshly popped corn — even if they are messy to make. (Tip: put vegetable shortening or non-stick cooking spray on your hands.)
