Good choice hippieluvn! I can't wait wait to kick-off my Halloween movie watching! Gunna start mine on Thursday! :D

I've just ordered the 80's classic 'Fright Night' to add to mine. I've only ever watched it when it's been on the TV.

Chris Sarandon has a cameo in the new Fright Night! I hope it comes out before Halloween too because I loved it. I doubt it will though :(

I never watched the 'Fright Night' remake in the cinema. When it comes out i'll probably rent it. :)

I just re-watched The Monster Squad last weekend, and had forgotten just how damn good it was. It has such a joyous spirit, and truly amazing special effects/monster designs. It has such an appreciation for the classic Universal monsters and it really does them all justice. I also love the little details like having one of the main characters wear a shirt that says "Stephen King rules!"
And the original Fright Night is my favorite movie of all time! I was annoyed about the remake but I went in with an open mind, hoping to like it. Like so many horror remakes, it's a good looking film but it has no heart and no reason to exist. It left me absolutely nothing to think about afterwards, as opposed to the original, which was so full of emotion, warmth, style, suspense, humor, interesting characters, memorable dialogue, beautiful music, etc.
So yeah, in this month, you're not going to find more appropriate movies to watch than The Monster Squad and the original Fright Night.

And then on Prytania Street, only blocks from the Lafayette cemetery, I caught the scent of death and it wasn't coming from the graves...
well, seeing as how i live only one block from prytania street and the lafayette cemetary mentioned here in this quote by louis from anne rice's interview with the vampire i decided to watch the aforementioned movie last night followed by a quiet midnight stroll around the cemetary walls to see if i ran into any vampires lurking in the shadows

Just read that Fright Night will be on dvd in late November. Boo. I wanted it for Halloween. But I'll settle for having it on my birthday :)
