Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

What about Hannibal Lector (not sure I spelled that right) from Silence of the Lambs? Not strictly speaking a horror movie, but he's sooo creepy. Highly intelligent, menacing.
Of the ones listed above, I think I like Freddy Kruger the best. The idea of a nightmare you can't wake up from, something that is real in its own world, a sort of alternate reality--that is an inspired idea for a horror film, I think.
Sorry, I can't honestly say I "relate" to these people. I can't even kill a bug, or a mouse! But I can say why I like them as icons of horror.

Number one hands down, Michael Myers.
I loved the absolute mystery of him in the original movies.
Also I love being scared to pieces, jumping out of my skin, and he did it for me. I saw that white face in every dark corner, after seeing the movie for the first time!
Number two, very close second is Leatherface.

I didn't even know there was a new Freddy movie coming out, LOL! But I would probably enjoy it. Is Robert England (that's the actor, right?) going to play him again?

i don't think he is (i'm not sure) but the guy they have playing looks really good and just like the original
Belladonna, yea Michael's mystery is what makes him so terrorfying. the absense of nearly everything but violence is what makes him what he was meant to be.... the shape!!

Yep, just unstoppable.
Like a juggernaut, he comes at you through anything.
I guess he is what we always thought of when we thought of the bogeyman late at night in our beds as children. I know I did. Mommy, Daddy couldn't help...we dealt with him on our own.

In the "imaginary" world, I also like Hannibal... he has good taste. Hah!
In the "real" world, I like Albert Fish. Who would suspect such a "nice old man" could be such a horrible, cannibalistic terror!

Ah yes, Hannibal.
His cultured, high-brow outer shell and that dark proclivity underneath. He was great!

Re: Who is YOUR favorite killer? and how do YOU relate!!
I went with Freddy Krueger, because his killing spree had a supernatural aspect to it. You couldn't keep him down, even after death. Jason comes in a close second, but I think Freddy is by far the most powerful. He can kill you with your own dreams. As for relating to him, I don't really relate to any of those characters per se. I'm just not the killer type. Krueger and I both had tough childhoods, if you're looking for somethjing in common. Come to think of it, so did Jason and I, but all in all, Freddy is my fav.

Oooooh, Albert Fish.... Creepy..... There's nothing scarier than the real thing...
For movies, it would have to be a tie between Michael Myers and Leatherface, but only in the originals of each movie. Each sequel gets less and less scary.
How about Jack Torrance from The Shining?

I voted for Michael, I like how he never stops, he's like a Timex, takes a licking and keeps on ticking.......If I was a scary movie killer I'd want to play Michael.
