Halloween Songs
As we all know, the Christmas Season comes with about a hundred different Annual songs. That's one of the things that Halloween seems to lack: A bunch of Annual songs. There seem to be few. We could change that by making a list. (And maybe writing some of our own.) So what songs do you find yourself singing when October rolls around? (List the song and artist)
Here are a few:
This Is Halloween - Marilyn Manson
Monster Mash - Bobby "Boris" Pickett
Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon
Zombie Zoo - Tom Petty
Dead Man's Party - Oingo Boingo
Thriller - Michael Jackson
Witches Brew - David Casper
It Must Be Halloween - Andrew Gold

Re: Halloween Songs
I can't think of any more songs, but I can think of a few pieces of music that go well with Halloween. What about Wagner's Flying Dutchman Overture? Or Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain? Or Grieg's In the Hall of the Mountain King?
Re: Halloween Songs
"Halloween" by The Misfits
Re: Halloween Songs
Also... "All Hallow's EP" by AFI (includes a cover of Halloween by the Misfits)
"Malleus Maleficarum" by AFI- off of a fantastic CD called "Black Sails in the Sunset"

Halloween-sounding music works too. In that case, I'd suggest anything by Midnight Syndicate.Murfreesboro wrote:I can't think of any more songs, but I can think of a few pieces of music that go well with Halloween. Re: Halloween Songs
Oh, the Halloween movie theme is very good, as is the one from The Exorcist. Spine-tingling.
I was a huge Dark Shadows fan back in the day. I remember that theme music. It's a good choice, too!

I forgot all about "Tubluer Bells," (theme to The Exorcist) but I don't remember who the artist was. There was also a remake of that song that came out back in the 80s. It was primarily featured on "Smooth Jazz" radio stations.
I am still a huge "Dark Shadows" fan, and I can't wait until the movie staring Johnny Depp as Barnabass Collins comes out.

Re: Halloween Songs
My daughter (13) just informed me this weekend that Johnny is for sure signed to do Dark Shadows. I was so excited to hear it! Formerly I had heard that only as a rumor. I'm a little nervous, however, to hear that he is once again being directed by Tim Burton. Not that Burton might not be good for such a project. It's just that he & Johnny are both so eccentric, and together, they tend to push each other over the edge. Also, I wish I could see Johnny with some leading lady other than HBC, and with Burton as the director (again), I doubt I will.

That was supposed to be "Tubuler Bells," and yes, those were the days. I don't have any copies of the Exorcist, but I do have most of the original "Dark Shadows" series on VHS.
